COMMENTS:
At the Council Meeting of May 25th, 1982, Council passed a
resolution #C-416-82, wherein the Mayor and Councillor Cowman were to report
further on the correspondence from the Ontario Committee for Canada's.
Birthday.
The brochure which was attached to the correspondence when
it was delivered to the Clerk's Office was examined to determine the criteria
for the grant monies and the date for application. Itwas discovered that
preference would be given to applications received on or before May 7th, 1982
and those who qualified for the grant would be advised by May 24th, 1982.
A telephone call was placed to the Ontario Committee
office in Ottawa, and.we were advised that if an application was sent as
quickly as possible, it might still be considered due to the .:fact that other
organizations and municipalities had received the brochure only recently.
It was determined in the course of the telephone conversation,
that these grant monies would be available next year as well.
The brochure and application form was given to a representative
of the Bowmanville Jaycees and the Jaycees were going to submit an v
application for grant monies forthwith.
Respectfully submitted,
