RICKARD SUBJECT: Resolution GPA -1027-82 RECOMMENDATION: G '7J4„ $v lJ TELEPHONE 623-3379 It is respectfully recommended that this report be received for consideration. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- At the General Purpose and Administration Committee meeting of September 13th, 1982, Councillor Woodyard rose on a point of privilege and brought forward the following resolution which was supported by the committee: "THAT the CAi ttee support Councillor Woodyard, bringing to the attention of the local M.P.P., that someone representing himself at the Government Research Centre is making annoying 'phone calls to citizens in the Town". It has been reported that there have been several telephone calls requesting the citizens' opinions of Councillors and the Mayor. I would recommend that Council advise Mr. Cureatz that should he receive a formal complaint from a citizen with respect to such inquiries, that Council support his investigation of the complaint with the Ministry of Consumer and Commercial Relations, to determine: 1. Is this survey being conducted or supported by an agency of the Government of Ontario, and if not, under what authority is it being carried out. 2. Is this survey being financed in whole or in part by the Province of Ontario, and if not, how is it being supported. I would further recommend that Council offer its co-operation in whatever manner required and that Mr. Cureatz advise Council of his findings. Respectfully submitted, GARNET B. RICKARD Mayor GBR/mr
