The committee has reviewed a number of different locations in Orono and has determined that the lands shown on Schedule "A" on the west side of Regional Road #17, would be best suited for the purposes of a fire hall. The lands, owned by H. Best, are currently zoned for agricultural and residential purposes under the Clarke zoning by-law, and are available for sale as ascertained through discussions with the Bests. ......./2 _j r g 1IooG SPG -Page 2 - REPORT TO GENERAL PURPOSE AND ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE MEETING Of SEPTEMBER 27TH, 1982 It would be appropriate at this time to determine the market value of the lands through a real estate appraisal for purposes of preparing an Offer to Purchase. It would also be appropriate, for future reference, to determine the suitability of the lands for septic tank purposes and servicing costs. When this information is available, it would be appropriate for an Offer to Purchase to be prepared by the Town's Solicitor with the Town bearing all necessary survey and legal costs. It will, of course, be necessary for a reference plan to be prepared legally describing the lands on Schedule "A". Respectfully submitted,, C "Garnet B. Rickard, Mayor Diane Hamre, Councillor E. R.
