SUBJECT: SPECIAL ANNIVERSARIES
RECOMMENDATION:
That this report be received for consideration.

BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS:
It has been Town policy over the last few years to recognize
Golden and Diamond (50 years and 60 years) Anniversaries throughout the
Municipality. In each case, it has been the practice to have delivered
to the couple celebrating such an anniversary, a bouquet of flowers
together with a letter of congratulations. The Provincial and
Federal Members of Parliament generally forward a plaque to the
anniversary couple.
It was suggested that the Municipality might consider
presenting a scroll on these special occasions as opposed to the
flowers and a congratulatory letter.
We contacted Mr. Merlin Slute who advised that he could
prepare a design for the scroll and when necessary, he could complete
the letters for each presentation.
We have now ascertained that, the scroll can be obtained,
the letter completed and the framing done, for approximately
$10.00 per presentation.
