COMMENT:
In light of the announcement that there would be an extension of
the Go -Train services to an area bordering our Municipality, I have been
requested by the Regional Chairman, Mr. Gary Herrema, to nominate someone
to a Technical Review Advisory Committee.
Recognizing the importance of the extension of the Go -Train
services to the Town of Newcastle, I think we should welcome this
opportunity to have someone serve on this committee, and I would
recommend that Mr. Ron Dupuis, the Director of Public Works, represent
our Municipality..
Mr. Dupuis and I attended the luncheon sponsored by the
Oshawa Rotary and Chamber of Commerce organizations, at which luncheon,
the Honourable James Snow, the Minister of Transporation and
Communications, gave a presentation on the extension of the Go -Train.
