BOWMANVILLE, ONTARIO LiC3A6 TELEPHONE 623-3379 REPORT TO THE GENERAL PURPOSE AND ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE MEETING OF APRIL 16TH, 1984 FROM: GARNET B. RICKARD, MAYOR and BRUCE TAYLOR, COUNCILLOR SUBJECT: ZION PARK COMMUNITY CENTRE BOARD p ------------------------------------------------ .--------------- RECOMMENDATIONS: It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee recommend to Council the following: 1. That this report be received; and 2. That the Town remove the present Zion Park clubhouse and level and grade the grounds where the building is situate; and 3. That the Town grant the necessary approvals to allow the Zion Park Community Centre Board to erect a small shed on the lands, which shed would be used for the safekeeping of the tools and equipment. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BACKGROUND AND COMMENT: On April 9th, 1984, there was a_ regular meeting of the Zion Park Community Centre Board. The status of the existing Zion Park clubhouse was discussed at this meeting. There was some discussion about whether or not it was worth repairing the building. It was decided that unless the Town was prepared to make the necessary repairs to the clubhouse, that it should be removed as soon as possible. If the present building is removed, the Zion Park Community Centre Board would like to erect a small shed on the same site. This shed would be used for the purpose of storing the equipment which belongs to the Board. The Board is prepared to finance the total cost of the proposed new building. The Zion Park Community Centre Board members operate a number of recreational programs and have many active members in that area. The Board has a good financial position and we think that the members should be commended for the work that they are doing and for the programs they provide to our citizens in that community, GBR/mr Respectfully submitted, _ 011 l GARNET B.
