RICKARD REPORT No. 1-84 HANDOUT TELEPHONE 623-3379 SUBJECT: Glen -Warren Productions, Episode #605/606 The Littlest Hobo ----------------------------------------------------------------- RECOMMENDATIONS: It is respectfully recommend to Council the following: 1. That this report be received; 2. That Glen -Warren Productions Limited be advised that Council has no objection to the filming of Episode 605/606 of "The Littlest Hobo" at the old Hollingshead Factory in the Town of Newcastle provided the Town shall not be responsible for any costs or liability for this production. COMMENT: I am enclosing herewith a copy of a letter dated May 23rd, 1984 from Ms. Onya Furey, Associate Producer of "The Littlest Hobo" television series, which letter is self-explanatory. Although the filming of this episode is taking place on private property, Glen -Warren Productions has requested permission to film in the Town of Newcastle. Respectfully submitted, Garnet B. Rickard Corporation of the Town of Newcastle 40 Temperance Street Bowmanville, Ontario L1C 3AG Dear Mr. Mayor: { On behalf of Glen -Warren Productions, we are requesting permission from the Town of Newcastle,to)tape part of Episode #605/606, "Firehorse", of THE LITTLEST HOBO, at the old Hollingshead Factory on Scugog Road, Bowmanville. This is a story about a "Firefighter" and with the very kind co-operation of Chief Aldridge and his Fire Department we hope to tape the exterior scenes at the factory on June 2 and 3, 1984, however, we will spend a total of five days at the factory. The factory is presently owned by Mr. John Winters and we have his consent to use the property. Enclosed is a copy of our correspondence from Chief Aldridge. If you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact me at 299-2221. One Advisor -Fire Chief The charge for vehicle and equipment should be paid by cheque to The Corporation of The Town of Newcastle.
