Local Government Week

RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended to Council:
1. That this report be received for information.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
Attached hereto are copies of a letter and a certificate which
were received from the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, on behalf
of Council. I acknowledged receipt of this certificate and indicated to
the Minister some of the actions that our Council had taken to make people
more aware of the role of municipal government.
Some schools have been in touch with my office and I expect
to hear from some others before the end of May. I realize that Members
of Council have also been involved in community and social affairs with
respect to municipal awareness.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Members
of Council and members of Staff for their efforts in promoting municipal
awareness.
