RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended to Council the following:
1. That this report be received; and
2. That Mr. David W. Oakes be congratulated on his achievement
of the advanced designation of CERTIFIED MUNICIPAL OFFICER,
through the Association of Municipal Clerks and Treasurers
of Ontario.

BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
Attached hereto is a press release from the Association
of Municipal Clerks and Treasurers of Ontario in which they announce
that the Clerk of the Town of Newcastle has been awarded the advanced
designation of Certified Municipal Officer by the Association.
It has been the policy of the Town to encourage municipal
employees to further enhance their professions through various
courses and associations.
In this case, we should congratulate Mr. David Oakes, A,M.C.T.,
our Clerk, on this achievement.
