HALCO BUILDING COMPONENTS LTD.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended to Council:
1. That this report be received for information.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
A new industry will be locating in the 'Town of Newcastle. This industry
is "Halco Building Components Ltd.", and the company will fabricate roof trusses
and wall panels for the housing industry.
The location of this industry is in part of Lot 29, Concession 1 of the
former Township of Darlington, comprising 8 and 3/4 acres on the north west corner
of the intersection of Regional Road 34 and Baseline Road,
Construction of the factory portion of the industry is expected to begin
immediately for 35,000 square feet. The industry will employ 25-30 people in the
beginning and that number is expected to double.
The re -location and building of office space is expected to follow at a
later date.
