HomeMy WebLinkAbout1987-11-23MEETING: TOWN OF NEWCASTLE 1010101040-M REPORT File # Res. # NOVEMBER 23 1987 DATE: MAYOR'S REPORT REPORT #: 04-87 FILE #: PERSONNEL MATTER RECOMMENDATIONS: By -Law # IAL It is respectfully recommended to Council: That the salary of the Chief Administrative Officer be adjusted to Level 19, Step 9 in accordance with the salary administration program of the Town of Newcastle, effective immediately. REPORT: At the General Purpose and Administration Committee meeting of November 16th 1987, members of Council considered an evaluation of the performance of the Chief Administrative Officer in accordance with Resolution #C-475-87. During the discussion, various matters were reviewed as they relate to accomplishments in 1987 and future directions. The recommendation provided above is based on the conclusions reached by the Committee. In addition, a subsequent meeting has taken place with the Chief Administrative Officer as directed to review the matters discussed by members of Council at the meeting of November 16th 1987. In general, these matters addressed the following: CONFIDENTIAL * improving areas within the administration, in particular related to dealing with the public and providing professional advice related to policy directions; * preparing a suitable economic development and industrial strategy for the Town; * preparing a realistic capital budget for 1988; and * implementing the performance review of the Administrators in the organization. submitted, inters
