SUBJECT: GENERAL PURPOSE AND ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE
MEETING OF OCTOBER 15 1984
RECOMMENDATIONS:
1. Newtonville Water Supply Study
The delegation to Committee be thanked and the Chief Administrative
Officer co-ordinate a meeting of Town and Regional staff, Public
Health Official, representatives of the Ministry of the Environment
to review and study and bring forward a recommendation:
In the meantime, a meeting be held for information purposes.

Meeting Schedule following Holiday Mondays
No change be made to the meeting schedule.
3. Rental of Photocopier
Council accept the written proposal from Office Equipment
Company of Canada, ~larkham, Ontario, to rent to purchase
one only Canon NP500AF Photocopier at a fixed monthly cost
of $341.00 for a period of 60 months with a buyout option
of $1.00 at the termination of the rental period:
The funds be drawn from the current operating accounts
which are allocated for the payment of the current photocopy
lease.
4. List of Applications for Cancellation, Reduction or
Refunds of Taxes
The list of applications for cancellation, reduction or
refund of taxes, attached to Report TR-82-84, be approved
except for Item 40, deferred until further information is
available.

5.
Act i vity Report
In accordance with provisions of Chapter 302, Section
81(1) of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1980,
The Treasurer reports to Committee that the cash position
of the Town of Newcastle for the month ended September is
as shown on the schedule attached to Report TR-84-84;
The expenditures for the month of September 1984 be
approved.
6. Fire Report September 1984
The Monthly Fire Report for September 1984, be received
for information.
7. Roadside Drainage - Solina Road
Report WD-7'9-84 be received and a copy be forwarded to Mr.
James A. Gordon.

Bridge over Highway 35/115 - (Lovekin)
Report WD-80-84 be received for information.
9. Tour of Industries
The Mayor arrange for Council to tour a number of industries
in the Town on October 29, 1984.
10. Citizen of the Year
The Mayor send a letter to all groups on the Town and to the
Editors of the newspapers, reminding them of "Citizen of the
Year" nomi nati ons.
