Mayor Rickard and Members of Council:- The following recommendation to Council was made at an in camera meeting of the General Purposea and Administration Committee on March 22 1982: 1. Registry Office 1. Report Admin 82-19 be received. 2. The Town offer to purchase the Registry Office property from the Region of Durham at a maximum of $116,000.00; THAT: 3. On completion of the conveyance to the Town, the Town proceed to rezone the property to allow a maximum of 55 senior citizens units (at a maximum building height of 35 feet); 4. The Town advise the Canadian Order of Foresters that a site plan agreement with the Municipality will be required and that an application for such an agreement should be made as soon as possible; . 5. The Town investigate with the Canadian Order of Foresters and the Provincial Ministries of Culture and Recreation and Community and Social Services, the possibility of obtaining financial assistance under the Community Centres Act and/or the Elderly Persons Act by including senior citizens facilities within the design of the building; 6. Council authorize the Chief Administrative Officer and the Town Solicitor to complete the conveyance as soon as possible; 7. On completion of the conveyance that the Province be requested to immediately relocate the Land Registry Offices within the main central area of Bowmanville.
