HomeMy WebLinkAbout1975-03-19 ReportTO: Chairman, Committee of the Whole
FROM: H. G. Wight, Deputy Building Inspector
DATE: March 19r 1975
SUBJECT: House Numbering - Resolution # CW 45-75
As pointed out in Area Postmaster Mr. W. H. Hadden's letter
the house numbers assigned to the dwellings on the Newcastle
side of the Oshawa - Newcastle Townline are not co-ordim ted
with the Oshawa numbers.
In 1974 the Newcastle numbers were issued by the Planning
Department and done in such a way so as to provide for axe
infilling situations.
The Oshawa numbers were issued several or more years before
the Newcastle numbers. In view of this fact the Newcastle
residents are not likely to have mail delivery until the
numbers are co-ordinated, it is suggested that the numbers
be changed as requested by Nr. Hadden. This can be done
and provide for infilling situations.
There is no doubt, there will be some inconvenience to the
residents, however if it is pointed out that the change is
necessary to provide for possible further mail delivery.
This may help to bear any inconvenience.
Attached hereto is copy of suggested notice to be given
to the residents on the Townline.
Respectfully Submitted,
ward G. Wight,
Deputy Building Inspector.

Our surveys indicate that the numbers on the east side of
the Townline are not co-ordinated with those on the west side.
So as to expedite possible further mail delivery it has been
requested by the Post Office that the buildings on the east side of
the Townline be re -numbered.
The following number is assigned to your dwelling.

It is suggested that this Number be posted on the front
