(1) ChgLml n! s Rq.Marks The Chairman stated that this meeting was a continuation of the meeting held on May 26, at which time the representatives of the proposed shopping centre developments, representatives of the Botimnanville, Newcastle and Orono Chambers of Commerce and other interested persons and organization had presented briefs and submissions for the Committee's consideration. The purpose of this meeting was to formulate a recommendation to Council relative to the three applications for Official Plan Amendments. He also noted that the Planning Director had prepared an amendment, dated May 31, 1976, to report 1§ 196. He further noted that Messers Messervey and Lewis were present to clarify the comments contained in hie letter of May 20 to Mr. Howden regarding Official Plan Amendment j 11. Hetherington, seconded by Councillor Allin, That Messers Messervey and Lewis be heard at this time. ;'CARRLID" Both speakers outlined the criteria by which they based their negative comments relative to the developer's plan to ezeavate 110,000 cubic yards from the lower flood plain lands immediately adjacent to the creel;, and utilizing this material to build up the central portion of the property. They further stated that until extensive stage storage investigations and calculations ase made and submitted indicating how this provision can be met, the Conservation Authority would not be in a position to issue any form of approval for the proposal. (3) Councillor A. Cowman spoke in support of some type of shopping centre in the Waverly Road and Highway 1001 areae (!�) Resolution _No P:1L-76 Moved by Price R, Hetherington, seconded by Pore H. Hammond, That Official Plan Amendment (9' 57), to redc�p�,gmto any lands beyond Block A of Plan y;= 698, to a Shoiiping Centro Commercial category, be refused at this time.
