(1) CHAIRMAN'S REMARKS
Chairman Entwisle, in his opening remarks, informed
the Committee of a recent meeting of members of
Council with i4r. Wm. McAdams, Commissioner of Plan-
ning and Development, Durham Region. This meeting
was called to discuss the interpretation of the
phrase "a status quo situation" as it appears in item
one of the letter of Transmittal, dated August 12,
1974, accompanying the proposed Interim District
Plan As this phrase reflects the policy to be
adop�ed in the preparation and subsequent approval
of the mapping and land use designation forming
part of the Interim Plan, it was of vital importance
that the meaning of this particular phrase be clearly
understood by this Committee, the Region and the
Ministry of Housing.
The Chairman further stated that the interpretation
of the phrase "a status quo situation" had not been
resolved during the meeting with Mr. McAdams and was

therefore still open for discussion. In order.to
resolve this matter the Chairman suggested the
possibility of a future meetin; with Officials
from the Region and the Ministry of Housing.
Councillor Wearn also spoke to the matter of the
meeting with Mr. McAdams and the interpretation of
the phrase "A status quo situation ".
(2)SCH_�DULE A TO THE INTERIM DISTRICT PLAN
(i) Three possible interpretations of the phrase
"a status quo situation" were considered by
the Committee.
a) to reflect the current use of land,
b) to duplicate the mapping in the existing
zoning by-laws,
c) to duplicate the mapping and the land
designations as set forth in existing
Official Plans.
(ii) Resolution No. P400-24
Moved by 11. Hetherington, seconded by
H. Hammond.
That the maps and schedules forming part of
the existing Official Plans of the four
former municipalities be appended, as sched-
ule A, to the text of the proposed Interim
District, subject to the following provisions.
a) When an implementing zoning by-law is
prepared, schedule "All of the Interim
District Plan will be revised to conform
to the text of the Interim District Plan.

(iii) Mr. Odgen agreed to prepare a map illu-
strating the predominate areas of conflict
between the present Schedule "A" of the
draft Interim District Plan and the
schedule as described in Resolution No. P-
-74 and to present same to this Committee
at his earliest convenience.
(iv) The Chairman requested that the matter of
mapping be referred to himself for his con-
sideration.
