Minutes of a Special Meeting of the Community Services
Committee held on Friday, March 17, 1978 at 9:30 a.m.
for the purpose of discussing budgets.

Call Present were: Councillor Alfred Gray, Chairman
Councillor E. R. Woodyard, Member at 10:30 a.m.
Mayor G. B. Rickard
Deputy Clerk/Committee Secretary, G. Gray
Also Present: K. DeGroot, Treasurer
Fire Fire Chief [layman was present to discuss the Budget for the
Department Fire Department.
Budgets
Resolution #CS -78-78
Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Woodyard
Apartment THAT it be recommended to the Finance and Administration
over Fire Committee that the rent charged for the apartment over
Hall #2 the Fire Hall in the Village of Newcastle, be reviewed.

Resolution OPCS -79-78
Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Woodyard
Budget THAT the following changes in the proposed budget be recommended
Revisions to Finance:
the $34,086 for debt charges be taken €rom lot levies
$20,000. reserve for equipment be deleted
$55,000. be added for the purchase of a fire truck at Courtice.
Heat, light and Water be reduced to $6,700.
Capital Expenditure be increased to $6,500.

Department Managers join, ed the meeting at 11 a.m. to discuss the
Budget Community Services Department budget.

THAT the Community Services Department Budget be received
for information and members of Staff and Committee peruse
these budgets with the objective of reducing the shortfall
to $30,000.
