W. Allin, Member Councillor R. Dykstra, Member Ccuncillor E. R. Woodyard, Member Mayor G. B. Rickard, Member Deputy Clerk, G. Gray, Committee Secretary Also Present: A. Guiler, Town Manager T.A.Fanning, Director of Community Services S. Hayman, Area Fire Chief Resolution 'ICS -94-78 Moved by Con. Allin, seconded by Con. Dykstra Adoption THAT the minutes of the meetings held on March 23, 1978 and of Minutes March 27, 1978 be adopted as read. "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -95-78 Moved by Con. Dykstra, seconded by Con. Allin Bond Head THAT Merrill Brown be authorized to reproduce 3 copies of Cemetery the survey of Bond Head Cemetery and it be charged to Bond Survey Head Cemetery account, subject to the Chairman providing an estimate of the cost. "CARRIED" Resolution FCS -96-78 Moved by Con. Allin, seconded by Con. Woodyard Bond Head THAT Hugh Smith, Albert Naylor, Rick Bate and Councillor Cemetery Alfred Gray be appointed to the Bond Head Cemetery Board subject Board to the confirmation of Council and the Mayor and Councillor Gray investigate the possibility of additional members for this Board. Woodyard, seconded by Mayor Rickard Property THAT the status of 2 pieces of property adjacent to Bond Adjacent to Head Cemetery in the Village of Newcastle be referred to Bond Head the Plannin; Department to consider with the District Pian Cemetery of the Village.. "CARRIED" Community The Community Services Director presented his report. Services Report Resolution #CS -98-78 Moved by Con. Allin, seconded by Con. Woodyard Ball THAT Council concur with the recommendation of. the Community Hockey Services Director to rent the Darlington Sports Centre for Darlington Ball Hockey on Sunday evenings, 3 hours per night for 20 weeks Sports at $15. per hour, beginning on Sunday, April 23, 1978. Dykstra Grass, THAT the Director's report re Grass Cutting, as amended, Cutting be received and the Director proceed to negotiate the contracting out of grass cutting where it is not feasible for Staff to do the work and report back to the Committee. "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -100-78 Moved by Con. Allin, seconded by Con. Woodyard Cenotaph THAT the Chairman contact Mr. C. Lemon in Newtonville for Newtonville a letter of consent to allow grass cutting on his property west of the Cenotaph in Newtonville. "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -191-78 Moved by Con. Woodyard, seconded by Con. Allin Ms. Braybrook THAT Ms. Jean Braybrook be heard. "CARRIED" "Community Services Committee - 3 - April 10, 1978 Ms. Brayb000k spoke to the Committee regarding her letter to Mr. Sam Cureatz, M.P.P. regarding facilities for teen- agers in Bowmanville. Resolution #CS -102-78 Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Dykstra THAT the correspondence be received and Ms. Braybrook be invited to present a petition which she was circulating, when it was completed, to the Community Services Director for discussion. Woodyard, seconded by Mayor Rickard ..ental THAT, as the price had already been quoted, the Darlington Darlington Sports Centre be rented for a wedding reception on July 15, Sports Centre 1978 for 6 hours at $15.00 per hour. "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -105-78 Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Allin Ontario THAT Hockey Tck:,-a in the Town of Newcastle winning Ontario Championship Championships be recognized in keeping with previous Hockey Teams policy. "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -106-78 Moved by Con. Allin, seconded by Con. Woodyard INrite-Off THAT it be recommended to Council that they concur with the of Bowmanville recommendation contained in the Treasurer's report dated March Cemetery 29, 1978 that he be authorized to write off outstanding Cccounts Bowmaw7ille Cemetery Accounts in the amount of $781.00 for accounts dated 1961 to 1975. Allin Newcastle THAT the Newcastle Recreation Advisory Committee be dissolved Recreation and the present members of the Committee and Mrs. M. Yeo who Advisory had submitted her name to serve on that Committee, be so Committee notified. "CARRIED11 Resolution #CS -108-78 Moved by Con. Allin, seconded by Con. Woodyard In Camera THAT the meeting be "in camera". "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -109-78 Moved by Con. Allin, seconded by Con. Dykstra Retirement THAT the Town Manager send a letter to the former Deputy Deputy Fire Fire Chief in the Village of Newcastle outlining the problems Chief arising if an extension to date of retirement was granted. "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -110-78 Moved by Con. Allin, seconded by Con. Woodyard Open Meeting THAT the meeting be open. "CARRIED" Resolution TICS -111-78 Moved by Con. Woodyard, seconded by Mayor Rickard THAT the action taken in camera be approved. "CARRIED" Community Services Committee - 5 - April 10, 1978 Resolution #CS -112-78 Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Dykstra Retirement THAT the Area Fire Chief, the Fire Chief at Hall #2 and Gift the Chairman of the Community Services Committee secure a suitable gift for Mr. Naylor and make provisions for a presentation. "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -113-78 Moved by Con. Allin, seconded by Con. Dykstra adjournment THAT the meeting adjourn at 4:45 p.m. "CARRIED"
