A. Gray, Chairman Con. D. W. Allin, Member Con. R. Dykstra, Member - until 8:10 p.m. Con. J. W. Holliday, Member Mayor G. B. Rickard, Member - until 8 p.m. Con. R. Bruce Taylor, attending Deputy Clerk, G. Gray, Committee Secretary Also Present: Town Manager, A.C.W. Guiler Area Fire Chief, J. Hayman Director of Community Services, T.A.Fanning Resolution CICS -252-78 Moved by Con. Allin, seconded by Con. Dykstra Adoption THAT the minutes of the meeting held on October 10, of Minutes 1978, be adopted as read. "CARRIED" Mr. Whitefield of Totten Sims Hubicki Associates was present for the opening of tenders for Site Development work at Courtice Fire Hall 114. Resolution #CS -253-78 Moved by Con. Allin, seconded by Con. Dykstra Tenders Site THAT the tenders be opened. Allin, seconded by Mayor Rickard THAT the lowest acceptable tender be accepted subject to meeting specifications and the tenders be reviewed by Totten Sims Hubicki Associates, the Fire Chief and the Town Manager. Dykstra Communications THAT the recommendation contained in the Fire Chief's Equipment report dated October 19, 1978, that the quotation of Fire Hall #4 Canadian Motorola Electronics Co. for Communication Courtice equipment at Courtice Fire Hall #4 be accepted, be endorsed. Dykstra THAT the matter be referred to the Town Manager and Fire Chief to come up with a comparison of prices from the three quotations and report to Council. Allin Minutes Sit e THAT the minutes of the Site Meeting regarding the Meeting Courtice Courtice Fire Hall, held on October 11, 1978 be Fire Hall received for information. Allin Use of THAT the Town Manager report back regarding the use Granular C of Granular C instead of Granular A at the Courtice Fire Hall. "CARRIED" I Community Services Committee - 3 - October 23, 1978 Tenders The Town Treasurer was present at this time Station Wagon with Tenders for the purchase of a Station Fire Department Wagon for the Fire Department. Holliday Oshawa THAT the Director of Community Services prepare a report Senior on the service provided by the Oshawa Senior Citizens Citizens for residents in the Town of Newcastle. "CARRIED" Resolution TICS -262-78 Moved by Con. Allin, seconded by Con. Holliday Bond THAT the letter from the Ministry of Consumer and Commercial Head Relations, dated September 25, 1978, and the administration Cemetery of Bond Head Cemetery be referred to the Director of Community Services, the Town Manager and the Treasurer for a review of the rates etc. and a report back with a recommendation. Allin Tot Lot The matter of the design and cost of a tot lot on Lot 21 Lot 21, Home Smith Properties Orono was referred to Home Smith the Director of Community Services to liaise with the Properties Director of Public Works and the Planning Director and bring back a report. "CARRIED" Resolution TICS -264-78 Moved by Con. Allin, seconded by Con. Holliday Kawartha THAT the letter from the Kawartha Conservation Study Conservation Group be received for information. Holliday Vandalism THAT the report of the Community Services Director Orono Park dated October 17, 1978, regarding vandalism in Orono Park, be received for information. "CARRIED" Resolution TICS -266-78 Moved by Con. Holliday, seconded by Con. Allin Santa THAT the recommendation contained in the Director of Claus Community Services' report dated October 18, 1978 Parade that the 3rd Girl Guides Group be given permission to use one section of the Parks and Cemetery Depot for construction of their float in the Santa Claus Parade, be endorsed. Allin Winterizing THAT the Director of Community Services' report dated of Pool October 18, 1978 regarding winterizing of pool buildings Buildings and pools be received for information. and Pools "CARRIED" Cost of THAT the Director of Community Services bring back Winterizing a report relative to the cost of witnerizing pools Pools and the costs of training Town Personnel to do this work.
