W. Allin, Member Councillor Jasper W. Holliday, Member Mayor G. B. Rickard, Member Deputy Clerk, G. Gray, Secretary Also Present< Councillor R. Bruce Taylor Councillor Robert Dykstra Director of Parks and Recreation, T.A.Fanning Resolution OPCS -233-77 Moved by Con. Allin, seconded by Mayor Rickard Adoption THAT the minutes of meetings of September 6, 1977 and September 14, of Minutes 1977, be adopted as read. "CARRIED" Splash Mr. Al Strike and Mr. Merrill Brown, of the "Splash" Committee Committee presented architect's drawings of the proposed swimming pool at Bowmanville High School and answered various questions from the Committee. Resolution OPCS -234-77 Moved by Con. Allin, seconded by Con. Holliday Agreement THAT a meeting be arranged at the appropriate time between School Board Council, Splash Committee, Town Solicitor and School Board and Town re Solicitor and copies of Mr. Sims' comments and the comments Swimming of Town Staff be sent to the Splash Committee Pool "CARRIED" Resolution OICS-235-77 Moved by Con. Allin, seconded by Con. Holliday THAT copies of the revised Agreement be forwarded to the Splash Committee and all members of Council when they have been received from the School Board. "CARRIED" Community Services Committee - 2 - September 19, 1977 Kinsmen Mr. Dennis McDonald, representing the Kinsmen Club, spoke to Club re the Committee relative to a Participark which the Club is Paricipark interested in putting is a Park in Bowmanville. Resolution PICS -236-77 Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Holliday THAT this request be acknowledged and Mr. Fanning delegate one of his Staff to liaise with the Kinsmen Club regarding an area for a Participark. "CAARRIED" Visual Mr. Bill Humber gave a report of the activities of the Visual Arts Arts. Some of the activities were Experience -77, a student assisting in the preparation of a Cultural Resources Map - Newcastle Game. Renovations to Building. Grant from the Onts_io Arts Council of $2500. Involvement of Other Groups, such as the Spinners and Weavers Guild. Work with Heritage Committee Annual Meeting on October 12, 1077 at 7:30 p.m. at the Mill. Resolution TICS -237-77 Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Allin THAT Mr.. Humber's presentation be acknowledged and appreciation be expressed to him for the programmes which the Visual Arts are carrying on in the Town. "CARRIED" Resolution CICS -238-77 Moved by Con. Allin, Seconded by Mayor Rickard Lipatnikov THAT the letter from Mrs. Novak, regarding the Lipatnikov Family family, be referred to Mrs. Depew for her comments. "CARRIED" Community Services Committee - 3 - September 19, 1977 Resolution #CS -•239-77 Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Allin Bowmanville THAT Mro. repew be asked to report on the Bowmanville Cemetery Cemetery at the next meeting. "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -240-77 Moved by Mayc= Rickard, seconded by Con. Allin Memorial THAT a letter of appreciation be sent to the Memorial Park Park Association thanking them for funding the Fall and Winter Association Brochure of the Recreation Department. "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -241-77 Moved by Con. Allin, seconded by Con. Holliday Adjournment THAT the meeting adjourn at 9030 p.m. "CARRIED"
