W. Allin, Member Councillor J. W. Holliday, Member - at 7:30 p.m Mayor G. B. Rickard, Member - at 7:30 p.m. Deputy Clerk, G. Gray, Secretary Resolution #CS -130-77 Moved by Con. Allin, seconded by Con. Gray Adoption THAT the minutes of meeting of March 4, 1977, be of Minutes adopted as read. aOT.FWIN Waverley Mr. Rick Allen, representing the Waverley Community Association Community requested permission to hold a Fireworks Display in Waverley Association Park on May 21st or May 23rd and for permission to have re Fireworks the recreation Department instal snowfence, Display Resolution #CS -131-77 Moved by Con. Allin, seconded by Con. Gray THAT this Committee give tentative agreement to the Fireworks Display subject to the meeting of requirements for a licence and a presentation to Council by the Association at the next meeting on "CARRIED" B.M.H.A. Mr. Cal Potter, representing the B.M.H.A. spoke to Committee Garage regarding the Garage Sale which the B.M.H.A. is planned for Sale the DaLlington Sports Centre on May 14th, 1977. Darlington Sports Resolution CICS -132-77 Centre Moved by Con. Allin, seconded by Mayor Rickard THAT the fee of $125, for rent at the Darlington Sports Centre be waived in this instance and the B.M.H.A.be responsible for the necessary clean-up. "CARRIED" Community Services Committee - 2 - Resolution #CS -133-77 April 18, 1977 Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Holliday Ontario THAT it be recommended to the Finance Committee that Champion the Town carry out the usual recognition for the two Hockey winning Ontario Champion B.M.H.A. Hockey Teams. Teams "CARRIED" Kinsmen Mr. Mark Borutskie, representing the Bowmanville Kinsmen Club Club, was present to discuss a Dance and Bar -B -Q proposed re Bar -B -Q for the Darlington Sports Centre. Changes Mr. Fanning, Director of Parks and Recreation, presented to Sports a cost for the changes which would be necessary to the Sports Centre Centre in order to comply with Liquor Control Board regulations. Holliday Available THAT it be recommended to Council that they accept the Grants proposal for changes costing $1,298.64, tentatively, and make application for Community Recreation Centres Grant and Wintario Grant and find out what is available from the private sector. "CARRIED" Orono Hilda Gatchell and Donna Hutton, representing the Orono Figure Skating Figure Skating Club requested a Grant Club Resolution #CS -135-77 Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Holliday THAT it be referred to Finance to give favourable Grant consideration to a Grant of $600. for the Orono Figure Skating Club "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -136-77 Moved by Con. Allin, seconded by Con. Holliday Zamboni THAT the Works Department do the necessary repair work Repairs on the Bowmanville Zamboni and the repairs be charged to Bowmanville the Equipment Maintenance account for the Bowmanville Arena. "CARRIED" Community Services Committee - 3 - April 18, 1977 Cost of The Director of Parks and Recreation was asked to Advertising present the 1976 and 1977 Budget figures of the cost Recreation of advertising to the Finance Committee. Allin Splash- THAT the Community Services Committee meet with the Committee Board Education, the Splash Committee in Cobourg on Wediesday, May 4, 1977 at 7c30 p.m. "CARRIED" Parks The Parks and Recreation Director presented his report and Recreation Resolution #CS -138-77 Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Allin THAT the Fees for Orono Park for 1977 be as follows: Orono Picnies for up to 100 persons $15.00 Park Picnics for more than 100 persons $30.00 Fees Sunday Parking: $1.50 car .75 motor bike 5.00 bus "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -139-77 Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Allin Booth THAT the rental for the booth at the Orono Park be Rental $200. for 1977. Orono Park "CARRIED" Resolution /RCS -140-77 Moved by Con. Allin, seeonded by Con. Holliday Closing THAT the Bowmanville Arena be kept open, if necessary, to of Bowmanville accommodate the Jr. C. Hockey Playdowns. Arena "CARRIED" Community Services Committee - 4 - April 18, 1977 Resolution #CS -141-77 Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Allin Newcastle THAT the Newcastle Community Hall Board Budget be Hall Board tabled until the next meeting and representatives of Budget the Hall Board be invited to explain their Budget. "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -142-77 Moved by Con. Allin, seconded by Mayor Rickard Tennis THAT it be r-zommended to Council that $1500. be taken Courts from lot levies in Bowmanville, if available, to make Lord Elgin up the balance of costs for tennis courts at Lord Elgin School School and it be checked whether application has been made to Ministry of Culture and Recreation for Community Recreation Centres Grants and Wintario Grants. "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -143-77 Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Allin Tennis THAT the necessary plans and applications for Grants Courts be made for tennis courts at the Courtice High School Courtice as designed by Mr. Fanning and the School Board.
