The Chairman advised any person Wishing further notice of
the passage of the by-law, if it is passed, to please leave
his name, address and telephone number with the Clerk
before leaving.
The Director of Planning described briefly the purpose and
effect of the by-law which was to change the zone category
of a portion of a 2.443 hectare (6.04 acre) parcel of land
located in Part Lot 15, Concession 3, former Township of
Darlington from "A-Agricultural" to "RE-Residential Estate"
and would permit the development of five (5) residential
estate lots.
No person spoke in objection to or in support of the application.
The Chairman declared this portion of the public meeting closed.
Mr. Patrick Meehan of Neon Products Ltd., spoke to Committee
relative to a sign for the Fifth Wheel Truck Stop. He said
that he was asking for a billboard sign on the Keith Crago Farm,
5 km from the Truck Stop. He said that drivers need a lead
time on the highway to be prepared to stop. The necessary
by-law amendment had been advertised and there had been no
objections, however, Council had denied the amendment to the
Sign By-law which would permit this type of sign. He asked
Committee to reconsider the amendment at this time.
