Minutes of a meeting of the Community Services
Committee held on Thursday, November 25, 1976,
at 1 p.m. in the Bowmanville Town Hall Committee

Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Allin
Minutes THAT the minutes of meeting held on November 1, 1976
of Nov. 1/76 be adopted.

Mr. H. G. Wight, Chief Building Inspector, presented
prices for aluminum windows at the Animal Pound. The two
prices presented were $690. and $430.

Aluminum THAT it be recommended to Council that the lower price,
Windows $430. be accepted and the work done and charged to this
for Animal year's Budget.

Delegation THAT Mrs. Bickell, representing Visual Arts, be heard.

Mrs. Bickell stated that the Visual Arts was prepared to go
ahead with the fireproofing of the Cream of Barley Mill at
their own expense if a lease is drawn up between the Visual
Arts and the Town

Agreement THAT it be recommended to Ccuncil that they enter into an Agreement
Visual Arts for a Lease with the Visual Arts regarding use of the Cream of
and Town Barley Mill and that they be given immediate occupancy and the
terms and conditions be worked out between the Town and the
Visual Arts with the assistance of the Town Solicitor.

Mr. J. Hancock, Animal Control Officer reported to Committee

Animal THAT the Animal Control Officec's report for the month of
Control October, 1976 be received and he prepare a report of the

Phone THAT the Animal Control Officer obtain a cost on an answering

Courtice THAT all pertinent information which the Fire Chief has,
Fire concerning the proposed Fire Hall at Courtice, and the minutes
Hall of the meeting held on November 2, 1976 in the Courtice High
School be submitted to Council for their consideration.

Minitor THAT the Fire Chief's recommendation that Minitor Monitors
Monitors be procured for 9 Volunteer Firemen at the Village of Newcastle
for at a cost of $119.15 per month for 3 years be forwarded to Council
Village of for its consideration and the Chief be present to explain the
Newcastle system.

Notice
Mr. Caruana was

possible closing of the Arena while Steel is

Orono The Treasurer reported that, at this time, the Town has not
Arena come to any agreement with the Durham Central Agricaltural
Grants Society regarding applying for Grants for the Orono Arena.

Agreement THAT the Treasurer and the Clerk be given authority to consult
re [sena with the Solicitor regarding an Agreement with the Durham
Central Agricultural Society regarding the Orono Arena.

Bowmanville THAT they agree in principle with the Bowmanville Jaycees
Jaycees use using the Recreation Office in the basement of the Orono Town
of Orono Hall and Mr. Fanning bring in a recommendation regarding
Town Hall arrangements.

Bowmanville The Cemetery Manager, Mr. VanSeggelin and the Secretary -
Cemetery Treasurer of Boxmanville Cemetery, were present at this point.
The Manager presented prices for lawn mowers. The twc costs
were $342. and $269.

Lawn THAT it be recommended that the lower quotation be accepted,
Mowers 2 lawn mowers at a total cost of $269.55.

October THAT the Cemetery Manager's Report for the month of October
Report be received for information.

Schedule A discussion regarding the sequence of filling in Schedule "E" n
IlEn to the Cemetery By-law was concluded to everyone's satisfaction.
