Minutes of a meeting of the Community Services
Committee held on Wednesday, August 25, 1976,
at 8 a.m. in the Committee Room of the Bowmanville
Town Hall
Roll
Call Present were: Councillor Ann Cowman, Chairman
Councillor D. W. Allin, Member
Councillor K. E. Lyall, Member
Mayor G. B. Rickard, Member
Deputy Clerk, G. Gray, Secretary
Also Present were; T. A. Fanning, Director of Parks and Recreation
Roy Neads, Arena Manager
Mr. Sim, of Totten Sims Hubicki & Associates.
The Chairman said that the purpose of the meeting was to
discuss the possibility of putting ice in the Bowmanville
Arena.
Mr. Sims explained that his report would be ready within a day
or two.

Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Allin
Ice Making THAT the Committee approve of the Director of Parks and Recreation
Bowmanville proceeding with putting ice in the Bowmanville Arena on receipt
Arena of a letter from Totten Sims Hubicki & Associates to the Ministry
of Labour, by the Clerk.

Recreation THAT the Clerk and Chairman contact the property department of
Workshop the Ministry of Transportation and Communications regarding
the use of the block building on the Watson Farm for use by the
Recreation Department as a workshop.

Adjournment THAT the meeting adjourn at 8:30 a.m.

The following is a report of a meeting of the Community Services Committee
held on Wednesday, August 25, 1976, at 8 a.m..-
1.
.m.:1. Ice Making - Bowmanville Arena
The Committee approved of the Director of Parks and Recreation proceeding
with putting ice in the Bowmanville Arena on receipt of a letter from
Totten Sims Hubicki & Associates to the Ministry of Labour, by the Clerk.
2. Recreation Workshop
It was recommended that the Clerk and Chairman contact the property
department of the Ministry of Transportion and Communications regarding
the use of the block building on the Watson Farm for use by the Recreation
Department as a workshop.
