held in the Committee Room of the Bowmanville Town Hall

employ a supervisor at $2.65 per hour at a cost of $993.75 for
the (15) weeks. Tyrone Athletic Association to pay a flat rate
rental of $2,000. for the (15) weeks.

Arenas in Arenas.

THAT a Committee composed of the Chairman of the Community
for Study
of Parks
Services Committee, the Director of Recreation, a representative
of C.L.O.C.A., Miss Forrest of the Planning Department and a
representative of the Jaycees come up with an overall plan of
parks in the Town, starting with the Soper Creek Park, and the
Committee consult with the Regional Planning Department.

Fire Chief Hayman appeared before the Committee.

The matter of removing a Board Fence and taking away rubbish

from the Newcastle Fire Hall 112 was deferred and the Mayor

and Councillor Allin offered to give a further report on it.

Fire THAT it be recommended to Council that the approve
Alertin Yellsi of the
8 installation of 9 leased telephone alerting bells in the
Bells residences of 9 volunteer firemen in the Village of Newcastle,
Village of Fire Hall 112, at an installation cost of $275. and a leasing
Newcastle cost of $31. per month and that the cost be added to the Fire
Department Budget for 1976.

Volunteer THAT it be recommended to Council that the application of
'fireman Jeffery Alldread of the Village of Newcastle for volunteer
fall 112 Fireman at Fire Hall 112, be accepted.

THAT it be recommended to Council that they concur with the
following report of the Fire Chief for Fire Hall #3, Orono;
Volunteer
1. Captain Jack Mercer be promoted to Deputy Chief to replace
Firemen
former. Deputy Chief Gordon Watson who retired.

2. Fireman Reid Cochrane be promoted to Captain to replace
Orono
former Captain Jack Mercer, subject to a 6 months' probation.
3. Application of James R. Hutton for Volunteer Fireman
replacement to bring the department back up to strength (18
members) subject to a 6 months' probation period.
