Minutes of a meeting of the Community Services Committee held in the Board Room of the Bowmanville Town Hall on Monday, February 2, 1976 at 1 p.m. Roll Present were: Con. Ann Cowman, Chairman Call Con. D. W. Allin, Member Con. K. E. Lyall, Member Mayor G. B. Rickard, Member Deputy Clerk, G. Gray, Secretary. Resolution #CS -24-76 Moved by Con. Allin, seconded by Con. Lyall Adoption THAT the minutes of the meeting of January 19, 1976 of Minutes be adopted. "CARRIED" Mr. J. Hancock, Animal Control Officer attended at this point. Animal Resolution CICS -25-76 Control Moved by Con. Allin, seconded by Con. Lyall Dog THAT one of the staff be delegated to telephone the list of Licences dog owners who did not buy licences in 1975 to check if they still own a dog and politely remind them that licences are now due for 1976. This matter to be reviewed in about 6 weeks. "CARRIED" Resolution TICS -26-76 Moved by Con. Allin, seconded by Con. Lyall Freezer THAT it be recommended to Council that a freezer be purchased for Animal for the Animal Pound at a cost of $341.33. Pound "CARRIED" Resolution TICS -27-76 Moved by Con. Lyall Clutch THAT it be recommended to Council that a new clutch be for old installed in the old truck at Animal Control at a cost of nimal approximately $75.00. ,'ontrol truck "CARRIED" Community Services Committee - 2 - February 2, 1976 Resolution #CS -28-76 Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Allin Fees for THAT the Animal Control By-law be amended to provide for dogs destroyed a fee of $4.00 for a dog brought to the Pound and $8.00 for or sold by a dog picked up by the Animal Control Officers to be disposed the Pound of or sold through the services of the Animal Control Officers. "CARRIED" The Recreation Director, Mr. Fanning, presented his report Recreation Resolution #CS -29-76 Department Moved by Con. Allin, seconded by Mayor Rickard Bowmanville THAT the Recreation Director check out the previous Arena Er,, -.sneer's report regarding the Bowmanville Arena and contact the Provincial Government re present standards. "CARRIED" Cost of Item 2 (b) regarding $34,000. cost of brine pipes for the Brine Bowmanville Arena was deferred until the total picture had Pipes been assessed and the Arena Manager was asked to try and obtain an extension on the 40 day price. Lyail, seconded by Con. Allin Telephone THAT the request of the Visual Arts Centre for a Call Visual Arts Forwarding System on the telephone, be denied. Centre. Allin Hockey THAT it be recommer.3ed to Council that Hockey Crests be Crests purchased from Crestey, Limited at a cost of $468.53. "CARRIED" Resolution TICS -33-76 Moved by Con. Allin, seconded by Con. Lyall Sanding THAT it be referred to the Committee of the Whole that the Community opinion of the Community Services Committee is that the Hall Policy of sanding the Town owned Community Hall Parking lots Parking be the responsibility of the local Management Board and the Lots Department of Public Works be as.r.ad for their opinion. Allin Arena THAT Council concur with the recommendation of the Recreation Closings Director that the Bowmanville Arena and the Darlington Sports Good Friday Centre remain closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday until and Easter 2 p.m. Sunday "CARRIED" Resolution /ICS -35-76 Moved by Con.
