WHEREAS Section 228(1} of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1960 requires that every municipality shall by"by-law appoint one or more auditors who shall be persons licensed by the Depart- ment of ,Municipal Affairs as municipal auditors, AND WHEREAS council have decided to appoint such an auditor. AND WHEREAS council have been assured that their nominee is a fully qualifted Charter.ed Accountant who holds the necessary licence from the Department of Hunicipal Affairs within .the meaning and requirements of t,he .said .statutory authority and that he does not fall within any of the statutory prohibitions found in the said Act, BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the }"'-uni cipal Corporation of ,the Township of Clarke as follovJs:- 1. That Walter H. Pope, Chartered Accountant, of the Town of Georgetown in the Province of Ontario, is hereby appointed ~runicipal Auditor for tho Township of Clarke. 2. Carman appeared before Council to inform them of his intention to let his name be nominated and stand for election as Trustee of the United Counties of Northumber1and and Durham Board of Education. In this regard he requested the support of the individual members of:Council. Road Superintendent M. L. Ross appeared at Council: meeting to discuss an appraisal report in respect .to the property of Ulrich and Ruth Ruegger being part of Lot 9, Range B., Broken Front Concession.
