Lyall, seconded by Mayor Rickard Adoption THAT the minutes of meeting held on December 2, 1975, be of adopted, Minutes "CARRIED" Animal The Animal Control Officer, J. Hancock, reported to Committee. Control Resolution #CS -324-75 ! Old Truck Moved by Con. Lyall, seconded by Can. Cowman THAT the old truck be retained for the present for use as an emergency vehicle. Lyall Tyrone THAT it be recommended to Council that they accept the Hall $400. credit on the electrical work, the $500. credit on Construction the brick work, and the fire enclosure cost of $2,196.93 Costs from Bowman Construction with regard to the construction of the Tyrone Community Hall. "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -329-75 Moved by Con. Lyall, seconded by Con. Cowman THAT the statement of the financial position re the construction of the Tyrone Hall be received for information. "CARRIED" Fire Area Fire Chief Hayman and District Fire Chief Glanville Department were present to discuss the new Fire Hall 1/ 2, Village of - Hall #2 Newcastle. A letter from Totten Sizes Hubicki pointing out the suggested renovations to the Building and a plan drawn up by Chief Hayman were discussed. Resolution /CS -330-75 Moved by Con. Cowman, seconded by Mayor Rickard Estimates THAT if the proposed plan is acceptable, Chief Haymar and re Proposed Chief Glanville get estimates on the cost of the renovations Renovations and bring a report back to the Committee, including the whole building (the apartment presently in the building). "CARRIED" Retirement Chief Hayman reported that Mr. Gard Watson, Deputy Chief Deputy Chief of Fire Hall #3 (Orono) is retiring at the end of 1975, Orono after 30 years service. Cameron representing the North - by Schools umberland and Newcastle Board of Eduction were present to discuss the use of arenas by Schools. Meeting to discuss use of Arenas by Schools Resolution #CS -334-75 Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded yy Con. Lyall THAT the Mayor call a meeting of School Board Representatives, the Recreation Director, Arena Managers and representatives of the Management Committees of the Newcastle and Orono Arenas on Friday. December 19, 1975 at 4 p.m. to discuss the use of available ice time in the Arenas by all the Schools in the Town. "°CARRIED" Community Services Committee - 4 - December 15, 1975. Lyall Time THAT a copy of the schedule of time available for use of Available the swimming pool at the Training School be sent to Mrs. at Training Higginson of the Social Planning Council with a covering School letter suggesting that they apply to Mr. Panning o. Cowman THAT due to the poor attendance at Tots Skating at Bowmanville and Darlington Arenas, the fee be reduced to .25 per person. ':CARRIED" Resolution #CS -337--75 Moved by Con. Lyall Hockey THAT the Regional Police be notified of the hockey game Game between the Swedish Team and the local team which is taking January 4 place on January 4, 1976 and that a large crowd is expected between 7 and 10 p.m., at the Bowmanville Arena. Memorial Park Agreement "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -338-75 Moved by Con. Lyall, seconded by Con. Cowman THAT the Mayor and Recreation Director meet with the Memorial Park Association to discuss the proposed agreement. "CARRIED" Resolution #CS --339.75 Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Cowman J. Caruana THAT Mr. Joe Caruana be recognized as a permanent Staff Employee as of December 1, 1975. "CARRIED" Community Services Committee - 5 - December 15, 1975. Resolution #CS -340-75 Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Lyall Orono THAT it be referred to the next meeting of Council to Amateur discuss if there is room in the Overall Budget to accommodate Athletic $4,500. for the Orono Amateur Athletic Society. Society "CARRIED" Orono Mr. Russ Major and Mr. Jin► Rickard representing the citizens Community of Orono and the surrounding area appeared before the Centre Committee to discuss a new Community Centre and Arena on Fair Board Property in Orono. Lyall Feasibility THAT it be recommended to Council that they engage a Study Consultant to do a feasibility Study on this project in conjunction with representatives of that Area and report by January 24, 1976.
