Minutes of a meeting of the Community Services
Committee held in the Board Room of the Bowmanville
Town Hall on Monday, December 15, 1975, at 7 p.m.

Tyrone THAT it be recommended to Council that they accept the

Fire Area Fire Chief Hayman and District Fire Chief Glanville
Department were present to discuss the new Fire Hall 1/ 2, Village of
- Hall #2 Newcastle. A letter from Totten Sizes Hubicki pointing out
the suggested renovations to the Building and a plan drawn
up by Chief Hayman were discussed.

Estimates THAT if the proposed plan is acceptable, Chief Haymar and
re Proposed Chief Glanville get estimates on the cost of the renovations

Retirement Chief Hayman reported that Mr. Gard Watson, Deputy Chief
Deputy Chief of Fire Hall #3 (Orono) is retiring at the end of 1975,

THAT the Mayor call a meeting of School Board Representatives,
the Recreation Director, Arena Managers and representatives
of the Management Committees of the Newcastle and Orono Arenas
on Friday. December 19, 1975 at 4 p.m. to discuss the use
of available ice time in the Arenas by all the Schools in the
Town.

Time THAT a copy of the schedule of time available for use of

THAT due to the poor attendance at Tots Skating at Bowmanville
and Darlington Arenas, the fee be reduced to .25 per person.

Hockey THAT the Regional Police be notified of the hockey game
Game between the Swedish Team and the local team which is taking
January 4 place on January 4, 1976 and that a large crowd is expected
between 7 and 10 p.m., at the Bowmanville Arena.

Orono THAT it be referred to the next meeting of Council to
Amateur discuss if there is room in the Overall Budget to accommodate
Athletic $4,500. for the Orono Amateur Athletic Society.

Orono Mr. Russ Major and Mr. Jin► Rickard representing the citizens
Community of Orono and the surrounding area appeared before the
Centre Committee to discuss a new Community Centre and Arena on
Fair Board Property in Orono.

Feasibility THAT it be recommended to Council that they engage a
Study Consultant to do a feasibility Study on this project in
conjunction with representatives of that Area and report
by January 24, 1976.
