W. Ailing Chairman Call Councillor Ann Cowman, Member Councillor K. Lyall, Member Mayor G. B. Rickard, Member G. Gray, Deputy Clerk, Secretary. Resolution #CS -299-75 Moved by Con. Lyall, seconded by Con. Cowman Adoption THAT the minutes of meeting held on November 3, 1975 of be adopted. Minutes "CARRIED" Clarke A delegation from the Clarke Museum Board appeared before Museum the Committee regarding the use of the Old Kirby School by rd the Clarke Museum. Miss Dyana Layng was the spokesman. Js e or Kirby Resolution #CS -300-75 School Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Cowman THAT this matter be referred to the Town of Newcastle Museum Board for a report back to the Committee and recommendations. "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -301-75 Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Cowman THAT it be r^.cori ended to Council that they advise the School Board that there is a r.ew interest in the use of the Old Kirby School by the Clarke Museum Board and ask them to provide an evaluation of the school for that purpose. "CARRIED" =unity Services Waverly Community Association Park Waverly Gardens Rent of land opposite Alonna Street Letter from B.M. Ii. A. Committee - 2 - November 17, 1975. A delegation from the newly formed Waverly Community Association was present. They advised Committee of the aims of their Assoc ation and a list of the Officers of the Association. Lyall THAT Mro Fanning, the Director of Recreation, to developing a park in Waverly Gardens, next including landscaping, shade trees, upgrading the funds to be furnished from the lot levies. give priority to the school, of the turf, "CARRIED" Resolution #CS --303-75 Moved by Con. Cowman, seconded by Con. Lyall THAT Mr. Fanning be asked to discuss with the Community Association the furnishing of further playground equipment in the Waverly Development. "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -304--75 Moved by Con. Cowman, seconded by Con. Lyall THAT a letter be written to Bowmanville West Community with a request to rent a piece of land, until other arrangements can be made, in the vicinity immediately south of the existing barn opposite Alonna Street. "CARRIED" Mr. Milani advised that his Company was respcnsible for installing a light in the tunnel under Regional Road 57. Resolution ?CS -305-75 Moved by Con. Lyall, seconded by Con. Cowman THAT in reply to a letter to Council, Mr. Brian Purdy of the B.M.H.A. be advised that the Arena in the Village of Newcastle is run by an Independent Board, the matter of ice time for use of B.M.Ii.A. teams has now been solved with the help of Mr. Needs, Manager of Bowmanville Arena and with regard to cost of putting a Recreation player on the ice, a copy of a report by Mr. Kennett be sent to them. Cowman THAT the Treasurer present these figures to the next meeting of the Finance Committee. $4,402.40 $2,669.25 $1,733.15 "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -307- 75 Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Lyall THAT Mr. Pethick be thanked for his report and it be recommended to Council that the Warble Fly Program be continued. "CARRIED" Mr. G. Kennett, Mr. R. Needs and LII. J. Caruana presented the Recreation Directors Report. Resolution 'ICS -303-75 Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Cowman THAT the Chairman arrange for a meeting with the Brownsdale Association at the Brownsdale Community Centre. "CARRIED" The Mayor suggested that a meeting be called of the Town of Newcastle Recreation Committee.
