Minutes of a meeting of the Community Services
Committee held in the Committee Room of the
Bowmanville Town Hall on Monday, November 3,
1975, at 1 p.m.
Roll Present were: Con. D. W. Allin, Chairman

THAT the minutes of the meeting of October 20, 1975
be adopted.

Board of The following Representatives of the Northumberland and
Education Newcastle Board of Education were present:

Proposed D. W. Patterson, Superintendent of Planning
Swimming E. Creighton, Chairman of the Board
Pool at G. Blythe, Chairman Recreation Committee
B.H.S. Glen Holmes
M. Prout, G. Cameron and A. Thompson, Trustees
E. Wolff, Principal of Bowmanville High School.
A discussion regarding the proposed Swimming Pool for
the Municipality at Bowmanville High School, ensued. It
was stated that there is no provision for swimming pools
in the Capital Grants Structure for School Boards and the
Municipality would be totally responsible for the capital
cost of a pool. The School Board Representatives also
stated that the School Board would be willing to co-operate
in such a venture.

TRAT the question of a Swimming Pool be declared premature
at this time, but it be recommended to Council that they look at
the Capital Budget next year to start planning for the future.

Waverly present at the meeting. The spokesman was Mr. J. Wohler,
Gardens Also present, Mrs. Hawkins and Mrs. Sadler.

That the Committee recommend to Council that as one of the
alternatives to the parkland problem in Waverly Gardens, they
try to negotiate for a piece of suitable parkland, lease if
necessary, on the west side of Martin Road in the vicinity of
Alonna Crescent.

System system at the Darlington Sports Centre, be accepted,

Park Central Lake Ontario Conservation Authority.
