Minutes of a meeting of the Community Services Committee held in the Bowmanville Committee Room on October 6, 1975, at 3 p.m. Rol Present were: Con. D. W. A11in, Chairman Call Con. Ann Cowman, Member Con. K. E. Lyall, Member Mayor G. B. Rickard, Member Deputy Clerk, G. Gray, Secretary. Adoption of Minutes Warble Fly Program Request to Rent Apartment over Proposed Fire Hall Village of Newcastle Resolution #CS -250-75 Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Cowman THAT the minutes of meeting held on September 15, 1975 be adopted. "CARRIED" Mr. Cliff Pethick, Warble Fly Inspector appeared before the Committee to report on the 1975 Warble Fly Program. Resolution r`CS-251-75 Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Cowman THAT Mr. Pethick meet with the Treasurer to prepare a detailed financial report of the program for the next Community Services Committee meeting. "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -252-75 Moved by Con. Lyall, seconded by Con. Cowman that the Balance of the Agenda of September 15, 1975, meeting. be lifted from the table. "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -253-75 Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Lyall. THAT the letter from J. Alldread requesting permission to rent the apartment over the proposed Fire Hall in the Village of Newcastle be referred to the Area Fire Chief and District Fire Chief for consideration when the Building has been acquired by the Town. Allin THAT the Tenders for the Truck for the Animal Control be opened. "CARRIED" There were 2 tenders as follows: MacDonald Ford, Bowmanville Ford Econoline without trade $4,363.00 P.S.Tax 218.15 $4,581.15 Shelman Chevrolet Ltd. 215 Lakeshore Blvd. E. Cowman THAT 8 firemen be allowed to attend the St. John Ambulance First Aid Class at the Fire Hall, Tuesday, October 14, 1975 at 7 p.m. "CARRIED" Community Services Committee - 3 - October 6, 1975. Cowman Radio THAT it be recommended to Council that Communications Canada Frequency be notified that owing to the Fire Department's technical hook up, the Town rishes to retain its present radio frequency. Lyall Memorial THAT this Committee recommend to Council that Councillor Park Hobbs, Councillor Allin and Mayor Rickard meet with the Association Memorial Park Association regarding an Agreement. "CARRIED" Resolution CICS -260-75 Moved by Con, Cowman, seconded by Mayor Rickard Ministry of THAT the letter from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Agriculture regarding the condition of the floor in the animal Pound and Food be received for information and a copy sent to the Animal Control Officers. The Secretary was instructed to reply to a letter from the Wintario Bowmanville Minor Hockey Association and bring to their Application. attention the Wintario Booklet and Application Form and offer assistance in filling out the form. Cowman Recirculating THAT it be recommended to Council that the Recirculating Pump Pump for the Darlington Sports Centre be purchased from Cimco Ltd., Darlington at a cost of $309.40 plus installation costs of $605. for a Sports total cost of $914.00 Centre. "CARRIED" Community Services Committee Arena Closings Thanksgiving Day 4 - October 6, 1975. Resolution #CS- 262-7 5 Moved by Con. Cowman, seconded by Cone Lyall THAT the Bowmanville and Darlington Arenas be closed on Thanksgiving Day. "CARRIED`° Resolution #CS -263- 75 Moved by Con. Lyall, seconded by Con. Cowman Meeting re THAT the Representatives of the School Board be invited to Proposed attend the first meeting in November, of the Community Swimming Pool Services Committee, 'to discuss the proposed swimming pool B.H.S. at the Bowmanville High School. Cowman, seconded by Mayor Rickard Haydon THAT two members of the Haydon Community Hall Board be Community invited to attend the next meeting of the Community Services Hall Committee on October 20, to discuss the management of the Hall.
