Minutes of a meeting of the Community Services Committee held in the Committee Room of the Bowmanville Town Hall on Tuesday, September 2, 1975, at 1 p.m. Roll Present were: Councillor D. W. Aliin, Chairman Call Councillor A. Cowman, Member Councillor K. Lyall, Member Deputy Clerk, G. Gray, Secretary. Absent: Mayor G. B. Rickard, Member Resolution #CS- 226- 75 Moved by Con. Lyall, seconded by Con. Cowman Adoption that the minutes of the meeting held on August 18, 1975 of Minutes be adopted. :ter• CARRIED" Mr. Larry Pooler and Mr. Jim Robinson of the Bowmanville Jaycees were present to discuss a Park Project for their Club. Resolution /ICS -227-75 Moved by Con. Lyall, seconded by Con. Cowman Bowmanville THAT it be recommended to Council that the Bowmanville Jaycees Jaycees be given the use of the 17 acre Soper Creek Town Park property for the'establishment of a family participation Project park providing a Steering Committee, composed of town Councillors, Director of Recreation and representatives of the Jaycees be formed to co-ordinate the project. Lyall Disposal THAT a letter be sent to the Ontario Humane Society in of Animals Whitby asking if arrangements could be made for disposing by Ontario of the Town's dead animals through the use of their incinerator Humane and the cost of this service. Cowman Broadcast THAT the letter from Jackson Ypes Associates regarding Booth Community Centre Building Broadcast Booth be tabled until Darlington the next meeting and that it be brought to the attention Sports of the Mayor. Cowman Fire THAT the Proclamation for Fire Prevention Week, October Prevention 5th to lith be published in the three local papers. Week "CARRIED" Meeting The Secretary was asked to arrange a meeting with the with Orono Orono Amateur Athletic Society, the Durham Central Fair Athletic Board and the Community Services Committee for Thursday, Society and September 11, 1975, at 7:30 p.m. in the Orono Town Hall. Cowman Fire THAT the Fire Protection and General Purpose Committee Protection of the City of Oshawa be requested to meet with the Courtice Community Services Committee as soon as possible, to Area discuss Fire Protection for Courtice.
