Roll Call Social Planning Council Sr. Citizens Survey - Ajax Social Planning Committee Newcastle Bond Head Cemetery Board. Transfer of Deed Minutes of a meeting of the Community Services Committee held in the Bowmanville Committee Room on Monday, July 21, 1975 at 7:00 p.zn. Because of the opening of the Pedestrian Mall on Temperance Street during Bowmanville Week the meeting convened at 7:30 p.m. Present were: Chairman, Members Secretary Con. D. W. Allan Con. A. Cowman Con. K. E. Lyall Mayor G. B. Rickard G. Gray, Deputy Clerk. Mrs. Cash, Mrs. Rundle and Mrs. Higginson, representing The Newcastle Social Planning Council presented a brief to consider an indoor Swimming Facility adjacent to Bowmanville High School. Resolution #CS -194-75 Moved by Con. Cowman, seconded by Mayor Rickard THAT it be recommended to Council that they support the brief in principle and that a request go tO tYte School'Board to"seek their opinion of this Project of an indoor swimming pool. "CARRIED" Maija Kassela and Sharon Davis of the Ajax Social Planning Committee were present to inform the Committee about the Senior Citizens Survey which they are conducting in the Region of Durham. Mr. Harold Gibson and Mr. Douglas Wright of the Newcastle Bond Head Cemetery Board were present to speak of problems associated with the Cemetery. Lyall THAT August 20, 1975 be Newcastle Day in Orono Park with Country Music, 2 TBa11 games and a Ballgame between the Town of Newcastle and the Region of Durham, "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -204-75 Moved by Mayor Rickard seconded by Con. Lyall THAT the Mayor locate the tractor in the Village of Newcastle before the end of the week. "CARRIED" Fire Chief Hayman was present to report Resolution #CS -205-75 Moved by Con. Lyall, seconded by Con. Cowman THAT the June Report of the Fire Department be accepted. "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -206-75 Moved by Cone Cowman, seconded by Mayor Rickard THAT the Fire Chief be instructed to sort out the problem with the answering service, at his discretion.
