Minutes of meeting of the Community Services
Committee held on Monday, May 5, 1975, at 1 p.m.
in the Committee Room of the Bowmanville Town Hall.

THAT the minutes of meeting of April 21, 1975,
be approved.

THAT no action be taken to refund a portion of the
dog licence fee paid for female dogs prior to the
passing of By-law 75-28 amending By-law 74-29.

Proposed Mr. Pat Blaker and Mr. Ed Major of the Newcastle Lions
Swimming Club spoke to the Committee regarding the proposed
Pool swimming pool in the Village of Newcastle.

Grants THAT a letter be written to the Subsidies Branch
re advising them that the Town wishes to submit applications
Swimming for Community Centres Grants for two Swimming Pools.

Agreement THAT the Newcastle Lions Club be given a copy of the
agreement between the Town and the Bowmanville Service

Community The Treasurer informed the Committee that Mr. Lorne
Centres Williams of Belleville was now the contact for Community
Grants Centres Grants and that he would be at the Town Hall to
discuss this matter on Friday, May 9, at 10 a.m.
Animal The Animal Control Officer, Mr. J. Hancock reported to
Control the Committee and was asked to keep a record of his
daily patrols.

Repairs THAT the Fire Chief be authorized to have the repairs
to Fire to the Fire Hall Ramp done by Pyrotenax of Canada Ltd.
Hall Travelling time - $7.50 per hr.
Ramp Working rate -$16.50 per hr.

Local contractor to supply air hammer and operator.

Proposed THAT the Community Services Committee, the Fire Chief,
Fire Hall the District Chief for the Village of Newcastle, a
Village representative of the Chamber of Commerce of the Village
of of Newcastle survey the proposed location for a Fire Hall
Newcastle in the Village and report back to this Committee in two
weeks' time.

Mayor Rickard suggested that a representative of Totten
Sims Hubicki Assoc. be invited to draw plans for a Fire
Hall on the location chosen. The meeting was set for
Friday, May 9, 1975 at 11 a.m. at the Fire Hall in the
Village of Newcastle.

Courtice Chief look into a possible location for a Fire Hall in
Area the Courtice Area.

The Director of Recreation, T. A. Fanning, attended
the meeting at this point. Mr. Ray Needs, Arena
Manager for Bowmanville was also present.

The bookings to be done at Orono and Bowmanville Recreation
Offices.

the Goal posts at the Darlington Sports Centre was tabled.
Item 6 of the Report regarding the Water Billfor the Darlington •

Tennis THAT the Tyrone Hall Board be allowed to use the
Darlington Darlington Sports Centre for tennis, when available,
Sports at a cost of $15. per night - Hours 5p.m. to 11 p.m.

for a fee of $150. for the season.

"No Parking" THAT Committee concur with the recommendation of the Public
Signs at Works Committee that the erection of "no parking" signs
Mosport on the roads adjacent to Mosport Park during the time
Park of the fireworks display on May 19, and the enforcement of
May 19. "no parking" regulations is considered to be impractical
at this time.
