Minutes of meeting of the Community Services Committee held on Monday, May 5, 1975, at 1 p.m. in the Committee Room of the Bowmanville Town Hall. Roll Present were: Con. D. W. Lyall Resolution #CS -117-75 Moved by Con. Tink, seconded by Mayor Rickard THAT the minutes of meeting of April 21, 1975, be approved. "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -118-75 Moved by Con. Tink, seconded by Mayor Rickard THAT no action be taken to refund a portion of the dog licence fee paid for female dogs prior to the passing of By-law 75-28 amending By-law 74-29. "CARRIED" Proposed Mr. Pat Blaker and Mr. Ed Major of the Newcastle Lions Swimming Club spoke to the Committee regarding the proposed Pool swimming pool in the Village of Newcastle. Village of Newcastle Resolution #CS -119-75 Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Tink Grants THAT a letter be written to the Subsidies Branch re advising them that the Town wishes to submit applications Swimming for Community Centres Grants for two Swimming Pools. Tink Agreement THAT the Newcastle Lions Club be given a copy of the agreement between the Town and the Bowmanville Service mming Clubs re the swimming Pool in Bowmanville and asked to ,ols sign the same agreement re their pool in Newcastle. Community The Treasurer informed the Committee that Mr. Lorne Centres Williams of Belleville was now the contact for Community Grants Centres Grants and that he would be at the Town Hall to discuss this matter on Friday, May 9, at 10 a.m. Animal The Animal Control Officer, Mr. J. Hancock reported to Control the Committee and was asked to keep a record of his daily patrols. Fire Fire Chief J. Hayman reported to Committee. Chief Resolution #CS -121-75 Moved by Con. Tink, seconded by Mayor Rickard Repairs THAT the Fire Chief be authorized to have the repairs to Fire to the Fire Hall Ramp done by Pyrotenax of Canada Ltd. Hall Travelling time - $7.50 per hr. Ramp Working rate -$16.50 per hr. 15c per mile Local contractor to supply air hammer and operator. "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -122-75 Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Tink Proposed THAT the Community Services Committee, the Fire Chief, Fire Hall the District Chief for the Village of Newcastle, a Village representative of the Chamber of Commerce of the Village of of Newcastle survey the proposed location for a Fire Hall Newcastle in the Village and report back to this Committee in two weeks' time. "CARRIED" Mayor Rickard suggested that a representative of Totten Sims Hubicki Assoc. be invited to draw plans for a Fire Hall on the location chosen. The meeting was set for Friday, May 9, 1975 at 11 a.m. at the Fire Hall in the Village of Newcastle. Resolution #CS -123-75 Moved by Con. Tink, seconded by Mayor Rickard Fire Hall THAT the Community Services Committee and the Area Fire Courtice Chief look into a possible location for a Fire Hall in Area the Courtice Area. "CARRIED" Community Services Committee Swimming Fees for 1975 -3- May 5, 1975. The Director of Recreation, T. A. Fanning, attended the meeting at this point. Mr. Ray Needs, Arena Manager for Bowmanville was also present. Resolution #CS -124-75 Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Tink THAT Swimming Lesson Fees for 1975 be: 4 weeks for $8.r2 per child 4 weeks for $4.50 for third and succeeding child. "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -125-75 Moved by Con. Tink, seconded by Mayor Rickard Fees for THAT the Town of Newcastle Swimming Pool Fees be Town of Newcastle 60c per person Swimming Seaons Tickets - $10.00 - good at all pools in the Pools Town of Newcastle - Not good on Sundays. Hours of swimming - Mon. to Friday 2-5 p.m. and 6-8:30 p.m. Sat. and Sun. 12 noon to 5 p.m. 6-8:30 p.m. "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -126-75 Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Tink Orono THAT Fees for Orono Park be: Park Fees Picnics - $10.00 up to 100 persons $20.00 over 100 persons Except on Sundays . Sunday Parking - $1.50 per car .75 per motor bike $4.00 per bus. The bookings to be done at Orono and Bowmanville Recreation Offices. "CARRIED" Item 4 of the Recreation Director's Report regarding the Goal posts at the Darlington Sports Centre was tabled. Allan Tennis THAT the Tyrone Hall Board be allowed to use the Darlington Darlington Sports Centre for tennis, when available, Sports at a cost of $15. per night - Hours 5p.m. to 11 p.m. Centre Orono Park Booth "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -128-75 Moved by Con. Tink, seconded by Con. Allan THAT Matt Snelter operate the Booth at the Orono Park for a fee of $150. for the season. "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -129-75 Moved by Con. Tink, seconded by Con. A11in "No Parking" THAT Committee concur with the recommendation of the Public Signs at Works Committee that the erection of "no parking" signs Mosport on the roads adjacent to Mosport Park during the time Park of the fireworks display on May 19, and the enforcement of May 19. Allan Lease re THAT the lease between Mrs. Phillips and the Tyrone Tyrone Community Centres Board re land adjacent to the Community Park Centre be received for information. Adjournment.
