Community Services Committee April 7, 1975.
Minutes of a meeting of the Compudity Services Committee
held in the Bowmanville Committee Room on Monday, April 7,
1975, at 1 p.m.
Roll Call Present were: Councillor D. W. Alun; Chairman

Adoption of THAT the minutes of meetings held on March 17 and March
Minutes 31st be adopted.

Mr. B. Heming and Mr. John Wood of the Tyrone Community
Centre were present to discuss the tatters included in
their letter of March 10, 1975.

Fireworks THAT it be recommended to Council that they approve of
Display the operation of a Fireworks display at Mospott on May
May 19 19, 1975, by the Tyrone Community Centre.

THAT the request for tennis courts at Tyrone be referred
to the Director of Recreation.

The Tyrone Community Centre representatives were advised
that Day Care Centres is a regional responsibility and the
Chairman of the Community Services Committee would check
into the matter of grants for Senior Citizens Clubs.
Mrs. M. Brereton and Mrs. N. Hoogkamp were present
representing the Newcastle Community Hall Board.

THAT the capital expenditures be separated from the .Hall
Board Budget and the other items be approved in principle
and forwarded to the Budget Finance Committee.

THAT the capital expenditures in the Budget be referred
to the Finance Committee for discussion and special
consideration.

THAT an ad hoc committee of a representative of the
building department, the Hall Board and the Community
Services Committee investigate regarding repairs to
the roof of the Newcastle Community Hall.

Mr. Jim Hancock, Animal Control Officer presented his
report.

Services and Mr. H. Best, By-law enforcement Officer
check the feasibility of a by-law allowing the Animal
Control Officer to issue summonses.

Burial THAT the problem of burial of animals be tabled until
of the Mayor checks with the Region regarding use of
Animals Landfill sites for this purpose.
