Minutes of a meeting of the Community Services
Committee held on March 31, 1975, at 1 p.m. in
the Committee Room of the Bowmanville Town Hall.
Present were:
Con. D. W. A1lin, Chairman
Con. H. B. Tink, Member
Mayor G. B. Rickard, Member
Deputy Clerk G. Gray, Secretary.
Mr. & Mrs. Hawes from the Newcastle Recreation Committee were
present to discuss their proposed budget for 1975.
They were asked to check certain items and resubmit the budget.
Mr. Pat Blaker, Mr. Grant Sedgwick and Councillor Entwisle
attended regarding the proposed swimming pool in the Village
of Newcastle. They were asked to conduct further research
on the project.

Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Tink
THAT the Orono Card Club be permitted to use the basement
of the Orono Town Hall subject to rules and regulations.

Resolution #CS -93-75
Moved by Con. Tink, seconded by Mayor Rickard
THAT Mr. Fanning approach the Works Committee regarding
pavement markings at the flasher at the Bowmanville Arena.
"CARRIED"
Tentative approval was given to the budgets submitted by
the Animal Control Officer and the Recreation Director re
the Memorial Park Swimming Pool.
The Secretary was instructed to invite a representative of
the Newcastle Community Hall Board to the next meeting on.
April 7, to discuss the proposed Hall Board Budget for 1975.
