Minutes of a meeting of the Community Services Committee held in the Bowmanville Committee Room on Monday, March 17, 1975, at 7 p.m. Roll Call Adoption of Minutes Warble Fly Control Present were: Con. D. W. A11in, Chairman Con. K. E. Lyall, Member Con. H. E. Tink, Member Mayor G. B. Rickard, Member at 7:30 p.m. Deputy Clerk G. Gray, Secretary. Resolution #CS -75-75 Moved by Con. Lyall, seconded by Con. Tink THAT the minutes of meeting held on March 3, 1975, be adopted. "CARRIED" Mr. Clifford.Pethick, Warble Fly Inspector attended the meeting. Resolution #CS -76-75 Moved by Con. Tink, seconded by Con. Lyall THAT the Warble Fly Control Program be continued for 1975. "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -77-75 Moved by Con. Tink, seconded by Con. Lyall Charges THAT the charges be as follows: Inspectors - $4.00 per hour Sprayman - $4.00 per hour maximum Truck and man - $7.50 per hour v4'• $1.00 per lb. be charged for the powder )0*.40e per head or $5.00 per call for spraying. Tink THAT the letter from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food regarding dates for Warble Fly Schools be received for information. "CARRIED" Community Services Committee - 2 - March 17, 1975. Resolution I/CS-79-75 Moved by Con. Lyall, seconded by Con. Tink Tyrone THAT representatives of the Tyrone Community Centre Board Community be invited to the next meeting of the Committee on Centre April 7, to discuss the matters mentioned in their letter Board of March 10. Visual Arts Advisory Committee "CARRIED" Mr. Tony Brand presented a Brief from the Visual Arts Advisory Committee. Resolution #CS -80- 75 Moved by Mayor idckard, seconded by Con. Lyall THAT the Committee concurs with the brief and supports the program outlined therein and that it be presented to Council for their endorsement. Resolution #CS- 81- 75 "CARRIED" Moved by Con. Tink, seconded by Mayor Rickard Sunday THAT a copy of a letter regarding the By -Law respecting Sports Sunday Sports from Mr. E. C. McNeely, Town Solicitor, be B -Law sent to the Ministerial Association, for their perusal. Burial of Dogs "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -82-75 Moved by Con. Tink, seconded by Con. Lyall THAT the memo from the Director of Public Works regarding Burial of dogs, be tabled until the next meeting. Resolution #CS -83-75 "CARRIED" Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Tink Sale THAT Councillor Lyall locate a place of business in Orono of Dog and Newcastle for the sale of dog licences. Licences "CARRIED" Community Services Committee - 3 - March 17, 1975. Resolution #CS -84-75 Mtved by Con. Tink, seconded by Mayor Rickard Item 1 THAT Item. 1. of the Report of the Community Services C.S.C. Committee meeting on February 17th, which was referred Report back to the Committee, be resubmitted to Council and Feb. 17 Chairman A11in have available the fees which are 1975 charged in surrounding municipalities. Dog Licencing. "CARRIED" Councillor Tink left the meeting at 8:30 p.m. T. A. Fanning, Recreation Director, presented his Report. Recreation Resolution #CS -85-75 Report Moved by Con. Lyall, seconded by Mayor Rickard Playground THAT Committee concur with the recommendation that playgrounds be held in the following locations: Ward 1 Tyrone Park Hampton Public School South Courtice Public School North Courtice Public School Maple Grove School Enniskillen School Director to investigate the possibility of a playground in the Zion Solina Enfield area. Ward 3 Kendal School Newtonville School Orono Park Westview Heights - Village of Newcastle Possibly Brownsdale Recreation Centre. Resolution /ICS -86-75 Moved by Con. Orono Park Swimming -- .60c Season Tickets Season tickets Picnics $10.00 - up to 100 persons $20.00 - over 100 persons except on Sundays per person - $6.00 single $9.00 family, two children $11.00 family 3 or more children not good on Sundays Single admission for everyone. Sunday Parking $1.00 per car .75 for motor bikes $4.00 for a bus. "CARRIED" Resolution #CS --87-75 Moved by Con. Lyall, seconded by Mayor Rickard THAT Committee concur with the request of Rev. W. Oake for the use of the Visual Arts Centre, once a week, for Arts and Crafts for the Boys Club of Canada. "CARRIED" The Treasurer, Mr. J. F. Descent joined the meeting for Budget Discussion. Resolution #CS -88-75 Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Lyall THAT tentative approval be given to the Recreation Budget but that Revenue be looked at in order to improve the balance of revenue to expenditures on a 25% to 30% basis. "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -89-75 Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Lyall THAT the Budgets for the Bowmanville and Darlington Arenas be given tentative approval. "CARRIED" Community Services Committee -- 5 March 17, 1975. Resolution #CS- 90- 75 Moved by Con. Lyall, seconded by Mayor Rickard Bill THAT the bill from the Orono Community Hall Board Sr. Citizens for meetings of Senior Citizens, in the amount of meetings $100. be paid. Orono Adjournment.
