Minutes of a meeting of the Community Services Committee held on March 3, 1975, at 1 p.m. in the Bowmanville Committee Room. Roll Call Present were: Adoption of Minutes Con. D. W. Allin, Chairman Con. H. B. Tink, Member Con. K. Lyall, Member Mayor G. B. Rickard, Member Gertrude Gray, Deputy Clerk, Secretary. Resolution #CS -61-75 Moved by Con. Tink, seconded by Con. Lyall THAT the minutes of the meeting of February 17, 1975 be adopted. "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -62- 75 Brownsdale Community Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Tink Centre Plans Recreation Directors Report THAT the corrections suggested by the Building Inspector be incorporated in the plans for the renovation of the Brownsdale Community Centre, the Association be advised and the plans be put out for Tender. Lyall Second set THAT Council concur with the recommendation of the Recreation of Goal Director to purchase a second set of goal frames at a cost of frames. $690.00 plus tax, to be used at the Bowmanville and Darlington Arenas Orono Town .— Hall Activities "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -64-75 Moved by Con. Lyall, seconded by Con. Tink THAT the activities at the Orono Town Hall be put under the direction of the Director of Recreation. Tink Newtonville THAT recreation activities in Newtonvjlle, as organized by Recreation the Director of Recreation, commence on March 5, 1975. "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -66-75 Moved by Con. Tink, seconded by Con. Lyall Meeting THAT the Community Services Committee and the Director of with Orono Recreation meet with the Orono Park Board to discuss the policy Park Board and management of Orono Park at a time mutually agreeable. "CARRIED" Arena Manager's Training Course Guelph, May 12-16 Resolution #CS -67-75 Moved by Con. Lyall, seconded by Con. Tink THAT Fred Payne, John Hughes and Brian Hughes be authorized to attend the Arena Manager's Course to be held at the University of Guelph, May 12th to 16th at a total cost of $285.00 "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -68--75 Moved by Con. Lyall, seconded by Con. Tink Rental of THAT Committee does not concur with the recommendation of the Equipment Recreation DIT-cctor to pay a rental to the Bowmanville High Bowmanville School for the use of their equipment. High School "CARRIED" Animal Control Mr. Jim Hancock, Animal Control Officer reported to the Officer Committee. Area for Burial of Dogs. Resolution /ICS -69-75 Moved by Con. Tink, seconded by Con. Lyall THAT the Works Department provide a suitable area for burial of dogs and a report be returned to the next meeting of the committee. "CARRIED" Community Services Committee - 3 - March 3, 1975. Lyall Ads re Dogs THAT the Animal Control Officer place ads alternately in for sale at the three local papers, Canadian Statesman, Orono Weekly Pound Times and the Newcastle Reporter regarding dogs available for sale at the Pound. Fire Chief Hayman Monthly Report "CARRIED" Fire Chief Jim Hayman was present to report to Committee Resolution #CS -71-75 Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Lyall THAT the Fire Chief submit a report to the Committee, each month. "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -72-75 Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Lyall Warble Fly THAT Mr. Cliff Pethick be asked to attend the next meeting Inspector of the Committee on March 17, 1975 to report on Warble Fly Control. Chair and desk Orono Office to Museum Adjournment "CARRIED' Resolution #CS -73-75 Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Tink THAT Councillor Lyall and Horace Best look into the matter of the old desk and captain's chair in the Orono Office and turn them over to the Clarke Museum. "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -74-75 Moved by Con. Tink, seconded by Mayor Rickard THAT the meeting adjourn at 4 p.m. "CARRIED"
