Dog Control By -Law Licence Fee Places of sale of dog licences Amendments to By -Law 74-29 Present were: Con. D. W. AlIin, Chairman Con. H. B. Tink, Member Mayor G. B. Rickard, Member Deputy Clerk, G. Gray, Secretary Absent: Con. K. Lyall, Member Resolution #CS -43-75 Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Tink THAT the minutes of the meeting of February 3, 1975, be adopted. "CARRIED" Resolution ##CS -44-75 Moved by Con. Tink, seconded by Mayor Rickard THAT the fee for Dog Licences be $7.00 per dog. "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -45-75 Moved by Con. Tink, seconded by Mayor Rickard THAT dog licences be sold in the Hampton Municipal Office, the Bowmanville Municipal Office and a place of business in Newcastle and Orono and that the place of business selling the licences get 10% of the fees collected. "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -46-75 Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Tink THAT the Animal Control By -Law 74-29 be amended as follows: Sec. 1. (3) definition of "running at large" be changed to "a dog shall be deemed to be running at large when found in any place other than the premises of the owner of the dog and not under the control of any person". Sec. 2. (I) fees for licences be $7.00 per dog. Sec. 2. (3) be deleted. Sec. 2. (5) "15th of February" be changed to "15th of March". Tink THAT the letter from the Newcastle Recreation Committee advising that Mrs. Fred Hawes was the Treasurer of the Village Recreation Committee, be received for information. "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -48-75 Moved by Con. Tink, seconded by Mayor Rickard THAT the letter from the Ontario Humane Society regarding Animal Control, be received for information. "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -49-75 Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Tink THAT Councillors Entwisle and Lyall be delegated as Council representatives on the Committee for the Swimming Pool in the former Village of Newcastle, as requested by the Newcastle Lions Club. "CARRIED" Councillor H. B. Tink was appointed Vice -Chairman of the Community Services Committee. Resolution #CS -50-75 Moved by Con. Tink, seconded by Mayor Rickard THAT the Chairman investigate and report back to Committee the cost of repairing the heating cable under the Ramp from the Fire Hall. Tink THAT the Hydro Bill for $7930 for the Browns School be acknowledged and sent to the Secretary of the Browns Association and Ontario Hydro be informed to send future bills directly to the Browns Association. Tink Durham Regional THAT the letter from the Durham Regional Health Unit Health Unit re be received for information and copies be sent to the anti -rabies Animal Control Officers, Health of Animals Branch and vaccine. local Veterinarians. "CARRIED" Visual Arts The Chairman was asked to bring in a report explaining what Centre arrangements had been made with the Visual Arts Committee regarding the use of the Drop -In -Centre as a Visual Arts Centre. Tink Plans for THAT the Chairman and Councillor Tink take the plans for the Renovations renovations at the Browns School to the Building Department at Browns and if the plans are satisfactory, arrange for the calling School of Tenders. "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -54-75 Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Tink Development of THAT it be recommended to Council that they embark on a Parks in program of developing Parks in the Municipality and a Municipality portion of the money collected for lot levies be used for that purpose. "CARRIED" Resolution #CS -55-75 Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Tink Membership THAT Committee recommend paying the Membership fee of Ontario $35.00 for the Ontario Recreation Association and the Recreation delegates be the same as in 1974. Association. "CARRIED" Community Services Committee Dual Use of Facilities at High Schools - a - February 17, 1975. Resolution #CS -56-75 Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Tink THAT the Chairman and the Director of Recreation approach the School Board regarding dual use of facilities at the Bowmanville and Courtice High Schools. "CARRIED" Minor The following prices for Hockey Crests for Minor Hockey Hockey were presented: Crests Crestex Limited $561.24(tax included) Lane's Sporting Goods 655.50 plus tax Sports Villa 829.30 plus tax D & R Sports 520.00 plus tax Resolution #CS -57-75 Moved by Con. Tink, seconded by Mayor Rickard THAT the Minor Hockey Crests be ordered from Crestex Co. at a cost of $561.24, tax included. "CARRIED„ Resolution #CS -58-75 Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Tink Pest Control THAT a contract be arranged with Pest Control for a Darlington cost of $132.00 for the Darlington Sports Centre. Tink Pop Machine THAT the Canned Pop Machine at the Darlington Sports Darlington Centre be purchased at a cost of $963.00 including tax.
