Community Services Committee February 3, 1975.
Minutes of a meeting of the Community Services
Committee held in the Bowmanville Committee Room
on Monday, February 3, 1975, at 1:00 p.m.
Roll Call
Present were: Con. D. W. Allin, Chairman
Con. K. Lyall, Member
Con. H. B. Tink, Member
Mayor G. B. Rickard, Member at 1:30 p.m.
Animal Control Mr. J. Hancock, Animal Control Officer was present
to report on Animal Control.
Licence Fees

of Commerce re
Use of Orono
Town Hall
Committee for
the Visual Arts.
Resolution #CS -32-75
Moved by Con. Lyall, seconded by Con. Tink
THAT the Chairman and Con. Lyall study the fees charged
for licences in neighbouring Municipalities and bring
in a firm recommendation for fees to be charted in the Town.

A delegation of six from the Orono Chamber of Commerce
=including the President, Mr. Kay Lycett and the Secretary
Mr. Chas. Pearce, appe^-:.ed before the Committee re the
Orono Town Hall.

Moved by Con. Lyall, seconded by Con. Tink
THAT the Committee, in conjunction with the Recreation
Director and the Report of the Fire Marshal, when it is
received, follow the suggestion of the Orono Chamber of
Commerce to carry out a use study for the Orono Town
Hall, keeping in mind an economic expenditure to bring
this about.

Mr. Neil Newton and Mr. Tony Brand reported to the
Committee that a Committee for the Visual Arts had
been formed and a list of the Officers and a proposed
Budget for 1975 would be submitted in the near future.
Mr. Brand also wished to thank the Recreation Director
for his help.

Storage Space THAT an attempt be made to find other storage space
for Recreation for Recreation equipment stored in the building being

THAT the recommendation of the Fire Chief regarding
fee for telephone answering service for the Fire Dept.
be referred to the Personnel Committee for discussion.

Mileage re THAT mileage for one car at the rate of .15e per mile
Fire School be allowed the 4 members of the Fire Department to
Sunderland attend a Course in Sunderland one night a week for 13
weeks.

THAT the sum of $1. per person be allowed for refreshments
for the hosting of the Durham Region Mutual Aid Meeting
on February 21, 1975.

The Fire Chief was asked to attend the first meeting
of the month of the Community Services Committee and
the second Council meeting of the month with reports.
The meeting adjourned for 5 minutes.
