HomeMy WebLinkAbout1974-12-09Committee of the Whole Roll Call TOWN OF NEWCASTLE December 9th, 1974 Minutes of a Committee of the Whole meeting held in the Committee Room of the Bowmanville Town Hall on Monday, December 9th, 1974 at 2:35 p.m. All Members of the Committee were present with Councillor Kenneth E. Lyall in the Chair. Secretary was J. M. Mcllroy, Town Clerk Resolution #CW -35-74 Moved by Con. Hobbs, seconded by Con. Allin. THAT the minutes of meeting held on November 25th, 1974, be. adopted. "CARRIED" Proposed Mr. Peter Weston appeared before the Committee to Shopping represent the Developers D. & M. Consultants. Centre King & Resolution #CW -36-74 Simpson Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Tink. THAT the Chairman of the Committee of the Whole and the Chairman of the Planning Advisory Committee consider the matter of the granting of a building permit for a shopping plaza at the junction of King Street East and Simpson Avenue and after consulting with Mr. Weston and the Town Solicitor bring back a report to the next meeting of the Committee. "CARRIED" Snowmobile Mr. Tom Hoar appeared before the Committee regarding Association certain requests for the Snowmobile Clubs in the area. THAT there be agreement in principle to the request, but that Mr. Hoar and his Associates bring a map of their proposed roads and type of signing proposed to the Public Works Committee, also any other requests which they may have. THAT the letter dated November 15th, 1974 from Mr. Lawrence Ellis Mason regarding Mr. Bowden's objection to a severence be Right -of -Way tabled to the next meeting. "CARRIED" Resolution #CW -39-74 Moved by Con. Tink, seconded by Con. Entwisle. Sidney Greenslade THAT the letters from Aird, Zimmerman and Berlis be re Building referred to the Chief Building Inspector to deal with. Permit "CARRIED 'AS AMENDED" Resolution #CW -40-74 Moved by Con. Entwisle, seconded by Con. Tink. THAT the foregoing resolution be amended to the effect that Mr. Warren be advised that it is the opinion of the Committee that the applicant is entitled to live in the cottage for the months of January to April inclusive, "CARRIED" Resolution ij/CW-41-74 Moved by Con- Tink, seconded by Mayor Rickard. City of THAT the letter dated November 13th, 1974 from the City Mississauga of Mississauga containing a resolution regarding the Resolution Regional Transit Authority, be received for information. Margaret & THAT this matter be referred to the Town Solicitor to Burney Hooey prepare a draft standard agreement to cover this and re Severence similar cases, the applicant to pay for the agreement Agreement expenses subject to his approval. THAT the Chief Building Inspector be given the authority to authorise legal expenses for charges laid through his department.' Dudar THAT the Chief Building Inspector be requested to give Construction any information and documents to the Town Solicitor to re Building attempt to lay enough information in front of the Committee Permits to enable it to come to a decision. Newcastle THAT Mr. Warren be instructed to issue a permit as Cement Block Section 9(3) of the Village of Newcastle Zoning By-law Building applies in this case. Resolution #CW -46-74 Moved by Con.
