Minutes of a meeting of the Committee of the
Whole held in Court Room 02, Police and Fire
Building on May 14th, 1974.
Present were: Mayor Garnet B. Rickard, Acting Chairman
Councillor Kirk Entwisle, Member
Councillor Ivan M. Hobbs, Member
Councillor H. Bruce Tink, Member
J. M. Mcllroy, Town Clerk, Secretary
Mr. W. Manson, Ministry of Housing, Regional
Coordinator for Durham Housing Action
Committee
Resolution #CW -19-74
Moved by Con. Entwisle, seconded by Con. Hobbs.
Provincial WHEREAS we are advised that the Town of Newcastle can take
Action advantage of the Provincial Action Housing proposals.
Had -sing
Proposals THAT the Provincial Government be requested to give
approval of our participation in the tHousing Action'
Program and undertake to provide sums of money
sufficient for our planning process.
THAT the Provincial Government be requested to grant
an initial sum of $25,000 to implement detailed studies
under their proposals.
