TOWN OF NEWCASTLE December 26th, 1973
Minutes of a meeting of the Committee of the Whole
Council held at Hampton Municipal Hall on Wednesday,
December 26th, 1973 at 7:00 p.m.
Present: Mayor Garnet B. Rickard
Councillor Bruce Tink
Ivan M. Hobbs
Kenneth Lyall
A. D. Wearn
Donald W. Aliin
Kirk Entwisle
Clerk J. M. McIlroy, Secretary
Moved by Con. Hobbs, seconded by Con. Wearn.
THAT the applications for the position of Planner be
sent to Mr. Wm. McAdams, Regional Planning Commissioner,
for review with the request that he recommend a
maximum of five for interview.
"CARRIED"
Moved by Con. Hobbs, seconded by Con. Tink.
THAT Messrs. Keith Ormiston and L. Hallowell be appointed
as Live Stock Valuers at a fee of $10.00 per trip.
"CARRIED"
Moved by Con. Hobbs, seconded by Con. Tink.
THAT the following appointments be made to the Committee
of Adjustment as of January 1st, 1974:-
1 Year Term - Thomas Rehder and Madeleine Williams
2 Year Term - Wesley Yellowless and Murray McKnight
3 Year Term - Maureen Remington and Russell Decoe

Planning THAT the following be the composition of the Planning Board:-

The-
The following Standing Committees were appointed: -
1. Finance Committee - The Whole Council.
2. Works Committee - Councillors Hobbs, Wearn and Entwisle.
3. Social Services Committee - Councillors Tink, Allin
and Lyall.
The Clerk was requested to find out what appointments the
Council was authorised to make to the two Boards.
Moved by Con. Wearn, seconded by Con. Tink.
Salaries THAT the following salaries be paid to the members of
Council: -
Mayor $11,000 per annum
Councillors $ 5,000 per annum
and the salaries be paid semi monthly.
