Roll Present: Councillor Jasper W. Holliday, Chairman Call Councillor Edward R. Woodyard, Member Councillor Donald 14. Allin, Member Mayor Garnet B. Rickard, Member Town Clerk J.M, McIlroy, Secretary Also Attending: Mr. G.F. Howden, Town Planner Miss N. Forrest, Assistant Planner Mr. J. Dunham, Director of Public Works Mr. H.R. Best, By -Law Enforcement Officer Mr. D.J.D. Sims, Town Solicitor Mr. Mike Jacobs, C.M.H.C. Mr. Bob Brozina, Regional Planning $ Development Mr. Doug Moffatt, M.P.P. Mr. Bill Meens, Regional Works Mr. Rae Stewart Mr. G. McElroy Mr. W.C. Evans Mr. Lawrence Staples Mr. Gerald Shackleton Mr. Bob Hancock Senior Mr. Sims reported that he expected to close the transaction with Citizens the Railway Company on March 31st to purchase the right of way Lodge for. Station Street. He also said that he was close to settlement with the Ministry of Natural Resources for the transfer of their property. He also mentinned that the property had to be rezoned to permit the development of the Senior Citizens project, Station Street had to be improved and water had to be provided. Resolution #LB -37-77 Moved by Con. Allin, seconded by Con. Woodyard. THAT it be recommended to Council that the Planner submit a By-law to amend the Township of Clarke Zoning By-law to permit the Durham Senior Citizens Lodge and that the proposed improvements to Station Street be not a condition at this time and furthermore, that as soon as the required road allowance has been acquired, a By-law be presented to Council to assume the road allowance as a public road. "CARRIED" Legislation & By -Laws Committee - 2 - February 17th, 1977 Mr. Moons advised that the Region can supply the necessary water service. Mr. Stewart reported that the Health Department had been satisfied. Resolution #LB -38-77 Moved by Con. Allin, seconded by Con. Woodyard. THAT Mayor Rickard be requested to get further information relative to the installation of the water main and report to Council and to the Senior Citizens representatives, this would be regarding the route, cost and policy of cost apportionment, "CARRIED" Resolution #LB -39-77 Moved by Con. Woodyard, seconded by Con. Allin. THAT the Orono Chamber of Commerce be requested to let Council have a letter detailing their intentions regarding the proposed walkway, such as type of construction, repairs and maintenance responsibility including snow clearing. "CARRIED" Resolution #LB -40-77 Moved by Con. Woodyard, seconded by Con. Allin. Adjournment THAT the meeting be adjourned at 5:40 p.m. "CARRIED"
