Monthly General Meeting, January 10,2017
Roll Call: Joy Vaneyk; Paul Rowan; Dave Taylor; Corinne VanDeGrootevheen; Walter Loveridge;
Danielle Carroll; Kat Caplan and Cecile Bowers.
Minutes of November 16, 2016: Corrrection: Should not read ... We have a 'problem" but
should read the ledge opening by dishwasher 'does not look finished'.... needs a rounded edge
to finish it off. Corinne will contact the carpenter regarding this matter.
M/S by Paul Rowan and Dave Taylor to accept minutes as corrected. CARRIED.
Treasurer's Report: Claude could not be here tonight but will have full report next month.
Year end financials will be available at February meeting.
Hall Booking Report: Dave noted that we had a good turnout at January dance. All went well.
Old Business:
Larry has purchased a new vacuum cleaner from Swish Maintenance for $249.00 and says it
works extremely well.
Regarding the sign at the road..Larry Quinney has contacted Tim Welsh and is waiting for
feedback.
Breakfast with Santa in December was very busy, we fed approximately 200 people and had a
generous donation of food to go to Clarington Food Bank.
Carson has been busy plowing and sanding the parking lot.
Hall Booking Report:
No January bookings but quite a few coming in for 2017.
New Business:
--Chairman Joy noted that she has to prepare a Grant Application for Municipality: Treasurer
Claude is giving up Treasurer's job ... will agree to be on the board but not that position. Looking
for someone to take over.
--KatCaplan noted that our kitchen does not have necessary utensils needed when we are doing
the cooking, etc.. We cannot keep anything in the drawers as they tend to leave with renters.
--M/S by Cecile Bowers and Dave Taylor to give Kat $100.00 to purchase kitchen utensils which
will be stored in a special tote and stored away for Hall Board use only. CARRIED.
--Regarding the Municipal Grant M/S by Corinne and Kat to apply for a new stove, value is
$7,420.00. Joy to submit Grant Application .
--We need to prepare for February Annual/General Meeting and Nomination of new
officers... need to advertise, communicate, board sign with date and time. Feb. 8 at 7 p.m.
Community Events Sponsorship: Must apply by April 1, 2017 for July to December events 2017.
--Joy to ask if we could apply for financial help for three events instead of just one.
