Knight Resolution #C-548-90 Moved by Councillor Hamre, seconded by Councillor Stapleton THAT the Minister of Municipal Affairs be requested to declare the area within the Town of Newcastle that was hit by the tornado on August 28th, 1990, as a disaster area for the purpose of relief funding, under the Ontario Disaster Relief Fund, at the '3 to 1" ratio funding, which was recommended by the Premier to be provided to the victims of the tornado in the Western Ontario area; and THAT the Premier of Ontario and the Treasurer of Ontario be advised of Council's decision. '"' ~ Special Council Minutes Tornado Disaster Clean-Up CONFIRMING BY.LAW - 2- September 4, 1990 Resolution #C-549-90 Moved by Councillor Hamre, seconded by Councillor Stapleton THAT, as the result of damages caused by the tornado of August 28, 1990, the Director of Planning and Development be directed to 1iaise with Dr. M. R. Michael, Commissioner of Planning, Regional Municipality of Durham, to designate Part of Lot 9, Concession 3, former Township of Clarke, as a cluster or to consider alternatives to permit a land severance. IlCARRlED" Resolution #C-550-90 Moved by Councillor Hooper, seconded by Councillor Hamre THAT the Director of Public Works be authorized to determine and provide minima1 assistance, not to exceed $15,000, in the clean-up of debris as a result of the tornado disaster, and that said funds be drawn from account #2900-2-X (Self Insured Losses Reserve), and that the municipality seek reimbursement from the Province. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-551-90 Moved by Councillor Stapleton, seconded by Councillor Wotten THAT leave be granted to introduce By-Jaw 90-137, being a by-Jaw to confIrm the proceedings of the Council of the Town of Newcastle, at this meeting held on the 4th day of September 1990, and that the said by-Jaw be now read a fll'st time.
