Moved by Deputy Reeve Vice and Councillor Osborne that Road Supt, be given instructions to make the Road between Lot 16-17, Con. 1, passable. Carried. Clerk was instructed to write Fred Stevens to the effect that fence across the road must" be removed and the road left open. Moved by Councillor Stevens and Deputy Reeve Vice that culvert at Leask' s be exchanged by the Township. Carried. Moved by Councillors Osborne and Werry that anyone requiring a new driveway on any Township road must buy his own culvert which will be installed by the Township andthesize and type of the culvert must be approved by the Road Supt. Carried. Moved by Councillors Stevens and Werry that the Building Inspector be instructed to inform the Road Supt. of any irregularities regarding driveways and culverts. Carried. The Assistant Municipal Road Engineer, D.H.O., reported on water Course in Lots 24-25, Concession 7, near 4"r. Darch, to tie effect that the natural watercourse is across the road where the culvert is situated and that the great majority of water is now running in that direction. Road Supt. presented his report and vouchers for the month of August to the amount of $ 3193.47 which were on Motion of teeputy Reeve Vice and Councillor Osborne accepted and vouchers ordered to be paid® Correspondence was dealt with as follows: Letters from the Dept. of Labour re Business and Office Buildings also Trench Excavators Act were referred to the Building Inspectod. . Letter from Douglas Barton re Road between Lots 24-25, Con. 8, tars referred to the Road Supt. Letter from Mrs. Clarence Yeo: re additional street lighting. referred to Mr. Hogarth. Letter from the Board of Transport Commissioners re road construction over pipelines was referred to the Roads Committee. Moved by Deputy Reeve Vice and Councillor Osborne that the Road Supt. be instructed to send the Bulldozer to Doug. Barton' s road to make the road passable. Carried. Clerk was instructed to have forms printed for Dog Tax demands. Moved by Councillors Osborne and Stevens that the Council give consent to six recommendations made by the Planning Board at their meeting on August 25, 1955. Carried. Moved by Deputy Reeve Vice and Councillor Werry that J.D.Hogarth be appointed as Law Enforcement Officer for the Township of Darlington. Carried. Moved by Deputy Reeve Vice and Councillor Stevens that this Council have the Hydro poles reset on Lawson Road. Carried. Moved by Councillors Osborne and Werry that the 20 rods of road in Hampton to Mr. Rogers' lot be repaired. Carried. On motion Of Councillors Stevens and Werry the General accounts were ordered to be paid.
