Darlington Township Council :net in Solina Community Hall on the above
date, Members all present, Reeve Nichols presiding.
Moved by Councillors Trull and Smith that the minutes of the previous
meetings were adopted as read.
Moved by Councillor Thompson and Deputy Reeve Rickard that the Road
Accounts to the amount of $ 7/' .3 2 be paid as presented.
Moved by Councillors Trull and Smith that the General Accounts to the
amount of 15559.45 be paid as presented.
Moved by Councillor Smith and Thompson that a wrecking yard license
be issued to William Hoskin, Burketon, as soon as the conditions of the By-law have
been complied with.
A letter from the S.S.# L Farm Forum re the issuing of a wrecking yard
license in Lot 27, B.F. was received and filed.
Moved by Councillors Smith and Trull that Deputy Reeve Rickard and
Road Supt. investigate Fritz Marti road complaint.
Moved by Councillors Trull and Smith that this Council endorse the
Resolution from North York Council re Resolution No 57-251 of the Township of
North York.
Moved by Councillors Smith and Trull that Rule 33 be suspended for this
meeting.
By-law for the appointment of Assessor for the Township of Darlington,
BY-law 2070. was, on motion given its three readings and ordered signed, sealed and numbered 2070
Moved by Councillors Smith and Thompson that Mr. William Laird be
appointed to complete Mr. S.E.White' s term on Planning Board.
Richard McKnight appeared re wrecking yard license. J.D.Hogarth to
investigate and report to next meeting.
Moved by Deputy Reeve Rickard and Councillor Thompson that the 1957
Road .rMoved
include the development of the Town Line West- in the 8th Con. of
Darlington Township in conjunction with Fast Whitby Township.
Moved by Deputy Reeve Rickard and Councillor Thompson that the Township
fence the roadway on the South side of Ormiston Street from the Public School to
road between Lot 16-17.
Moved by Deputy Reeve Rickard and Councillor Smith that the Township
gravel the road from the Training School corner to Providence School corner
prodded that Trans Northern Pipe Line Co. contribute $1500.00 to the cost of the work.
Moved by Councillors Smith and Tr:.ul that the Clerk write to the Supt,
of the Boys Training School Bowmanville, asking him to consult our road Supt. in
regard to cultivating land on Township road allowance.
Moved by Councillors Thompson and Smith that the Reeve, Road Supt.,
and Clerk, be authorized to award Tender for Gravel crushing and chips subject to
the approval of D.H.O.TQunicipal Road Engineer.
Res. !L 17 Moved by Councillors Trull and Smith that Roads Resurfacing to be awarded
contract for supplying, applying, applying, M.C.Prime on approximately 10 miles
of Township roads at 25.35 cents per gallon.
