Restoration work has recently been completed on the exterior of the building and an application for Designated Property Grant in the amount of $3,000.00 has been submitted. The Ontario Heritage Act, 1974, states that owners of property designated under the Act can apply to the municipality for grants of 50 percent of the total cost of the work, to a maximum of $3, 000 .00 in any calendar year to offset the cost of restoration work. A previous grant was received for work completed on the church in September 1990 . Once the grant has been paid by the municipality, application is made to the province for reimbursement of the entire amount, plus 10 percent to cover administrative costs .
