SUBJECT:
APPROVAL OF TILE DRAINAGE LOAN APPLICATION
ELIAS AND JOSEPH MICHAEL, R. R. #3,
NEWCASTLE, ONTARIO, LOA 1HO - PART LOT 16,
BROKEN FRONT CONCESSION, CLARKE
RECOMMENDATIONS;
1. THAT Report CD-26-88 be received; and
2. THAT the Tile Drainage Loan Application submitted by Elias and Joseph Michael,
in the amount of $8,800.00 be approved; and
3. THAT the attached By-law be approved and the By-law and necessary support
documents be forwarded to the Regional Municipality of Durham for processing;
and
4. THAT the applicants be advised that their loan has been approved.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
Masters E. and J. Michael filed an application for a Tile Drainage Loan in the
amount of $9,000.00 on May 6, 1988. The works were completed by April 28, 1988,
and subsequently invoices totalling $11,770.90 were submitted for the Works
Department's review. The Drainage Inspector inspected the works and filed an
Inspection and Completion Certificate on May 13, 1988, in the amount of $8,800.00

We have been advised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, that the Town of
Newcastle's budget for the Tile Loan Program for 1988 - 89, is ¢19,500.00.
It is therefore, recommended that the Tile Drainage Loan Application in the amount
of $8,800.00 be approved, the necessary by-law forwarded to Council for passage,
and the application when approved by Council, forwarded to the Region for
processing.
